Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Donaueschingen

    The cycling holiday along River Danube starts in Donaueschingen, characterized by the baronial Fürstenbergische Residence. Example of hotel: Hotel zum Hirschen in Donaueschingen
  • Day 2 - Donaueschingen–Mühlheim/Fridingen, approx. 45-55 km

    The cycle route along River Danube leads along flat paths through a region called “Baar”. After Tuttlingen the valley slowly narrows and you enjoy cycling to Baden-Würtemberg Beuron famous Benedictine Monastery. Example of hotel: Gasthof Hirsch in Mühlheim
  • Day 3 - Mühlheim/Fridingen–Sigmaringen/Scheer, approx. 45-60 km

    The bike route leads through the „Danube breakthrough“, where River Danube and the cycle path lead to Sigmaringen. Enjoy an interesting guided tour of the residence palace, which still is inhabited today. Example of hotel: Hotel Garni Jägerhof in Sigmaringen
  • Day 4 - Sigmaringen/Scheer–Obermarchtal, approx. 45-50 km

    Cycling along River Danube to Zwiefaltendorf, where we recommend a side trip to the Benedictine Monastery with its beautiful baroque and rococo architecture. Example of hotel: Gasthof Berghofstüble in Obermarchtal
  • Day 5 - Obermarchtal–Ulm, approx. 65 km

    Today leaving the river cycling through the Danube valley to Blaubeuren to today's final destination Ulm with the world highest church tower. Short Version: You can also cycle directly along the River Danube to Ulm. Example of hotel: Hotel am Rathaus in Ulm
  • Day 6 - Ulm–Lauingen/Dillingen, approx. 50-55 km

    The bike tour today passes between Ulm and Dillingen through well-kept villages you can visit the pilgrimage church in Elchingen and the rococo style Church of Our in Günzburg. Example of hotel: Hotel Kannenkeller in Lauingen
  • Day 7 - Lauingen/Dillingen–Donauwörth/Wörnitzstein, approx. 40-45 km

    The villages are mainly located somewhat off the beaten track on hills protected from the river floodwaters. Those who wish can take a break from cycling in one of the well-maintained villages. Example of hotel: Hotel Donau in Donauwörth

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 25 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
