The Adige Cycle Route from Lake Reschen to Merano, Bolzano and Trento is one of the most popular cycle routes in South Tyrol. The route largely follows the course of the Adige and combines alpine landscapes with a Mediterranean atmosphere.
- Lake Reschen & Vinschgau: The cycle tour begins at the Reschen Pass with a view of the sunken church tower of Graun. The route takes you through the Vinschgau Valley, past castles, apple orchards and the mountain panorama of the Ortler.
- Merano & Bolzano: Mediterranean gardens, vineyards and historic old towns characterise this section through South Tyrol. Merano and Bolzano invite you to enjoy culture, cuisine and relaxing breaks.
- Trento, Lake Garda & Verona: The Adige Cycle Route leads to Trento along the South Tyrolean Wine Route. Depending on the tour, the journey ends at Lake Garda or continues on to the city of Verona.
- Extension to Venice: Selected cycling tours lead from Verona via Vicenza and Padua to the lagoon city of Venice, linking South Tyrol with the cultural cities of the Veneto region.

The cycle tours along the Adige Cycle Route are easy to moderate:

- mostly tarmac, well-maintained cycle paths
- only a few longer climbs
- Daily stages usually between 35 and 70 km, depending on the tour
- well suited to leisure cyclists and e-bike riders
A normal level of fitness is sufficient. On extension routes to Verona or Venice, there may be some hilly sections.
Best time of year to visit the Adige Cycle Path
The season for cycling holidays in South Tyrol and northern Italy runs from April to October:
- April–May: apple blossom and pleasant spring temperatures
- June–August: long days and summery weather
- September–October: grape harvest, clear views and mild autumn days
For the higher-altitude starting point at Lake Reschen, the months of May to September are particularly recommended.

Depending on the route and type of trip, a cycling tour along the Adige Cycle Route usually lasts between 6 and 10 days.
