Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau

Before you start your bike tour along the Upper Danube Valley towards Schlögen, you will be enchanted by the charm of the three-river-city of Passau. Admire the massive spectacle of the Danube flow in Upper Austria, where the river winds around the granite rock from the Mühlviertel Region. Your bike tour continues along the Danube cycle path always directly besides the river. Leaving the forested hills behind you, cycle through the fruitful region of the „Eferdinger Becken“, to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. In the evening, visit the great tourist attractions of Linz: the new Music Theatre, the Art Museum Lentos, Linz Castle, the Pöstlingberg and much more... You start your cycling tour along the Danube cycle path through the Wachau valley, pass well-known villages such as Weißenkirchen and Dürnstein and Krems, which are also famous as wine-destinations. Your cycling route leads through the Tullner Feld, the garden town of Tulln before you go by train from Tulln to Vienna, Austria's capital, where a great variety of sights await you with magnificent buildings along the Ringstraße, Palace Schönbrunn, the Prater with its Giant Ferry Wheel and of course the traditional Viennese coffee houses. The National Park of the Danube meadows starts right at the access of Vienna, an idyllic landscape with a great variety of fauna and flora awaits you. Cycle past Castle Ort and Castle Eckartsau before you reach the spa resort Bad Deutsch Altenburg where already the Romans left their traces. The Danube flows embedded through the Hainburg Mountains and the small Karpaten. The Slovakian capital Bratislava enchants with its charming old town, many impressive buildings and its fascinating fortress high above the Danube. The Schütt Island is a paradise for birds and fishes: admire untouched landscape with small islands, idyllic farm villages and a labyrinth with side arms of the Danube. We suggest shortening the route (about 44 km) between Mosonmagyarovar and Györ by train. Tickets are available at the ticket-machines in the train station and cost about 1&euro per trip. The National stud Bábolna is world famous for Arabian horses breeding. Through rolling hills of the agrarian area, return to the Danube to the parted town of Komárno, King Matthew's favourite city. Enjoy cycling along the waterfront of the Slovakian Danube on causeways and traffic low side roads through small farmer villages past the Roman castle of Kelematia. A true highlight of this bike route is the Bishop – and Emperor City Esztergom with Hungarian's largest basilica. Amidst rolling hills, the river parts and your cycle route leads through idyllic villages along Szentendre Island. Countless small handcraft shops and the open-air museum Skanzen made this picturesque town on the mainland world famous. During a boat trip a special highlight is to enjoy the view onto the famous and impressive buildings of Budapest. Security for your booking:
As a tour operator, the safety, well-being and health of our customers are top priorities for us. We are constantly monitoring the current situation and are in close contact with official authorities. In the event of travel changes, we will inform you immediately. If an official travel warning is issued on your arrival date for your destination or your home town, you can of course cancel your trip free of charge or change your booking to another date.
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before departure
50% of the tour price from the 13th to the 8th day before departure
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before departure
90% of the tour price from the 3rd day before departure until the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes to the booking (date of travel, tour, duration, transfer of the booking to another person etc.) up to 28 days before departure, for reasons which are outside our control, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,- per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

In case of a booking your announced data will be only used from OÖ Touristik GmbH for the process of bookings and related transactions and will be passed on only in the context of the contractual relationship to third parties. The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302.
This ensures that you will benefit from all EU rights applicable to packages. Company OÖ Touristik GmbH will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole.
Additionally, as required by law, the company OÖ Touristik GmbH has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.

The tour operator OÖ Touristik GmbH, Freistädter Str. 119, 4041 Linz has completed a bankruptcy insurance with Raiffeisen Landesbank Oberösterreich AG, Europaplatz 1a, 4020 Linz. The liquidator is the Europäische Reiseversicherung AG, Kratochwjlestraße 4, 1220 Wien, Email: info@europaeische.at, 24-hour emergency number: +43 1 3172500.
Travelers have to contact the liquidator within 8 weeks if they are denied claims due to the insolvency of OÖ Touristik GmbH. Details on the business license of OÖ Touristik GmbH can be found on the website https://www.gisa.gv.at/abfrage under the GISA number 14930096.
