Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau
The cycling holidays start in Passau in Germany. Check-in and you receive the travel documents for your bike tour. Handover of your rented bike takes place in our bike center. Take the Danube boat to Kasten. Afterwards you cycle past the picturesque Engelszell Abbey and further to the Schlögener Schlinge. Then follow the cycle path in Upper Austria along the Danube to Feldkirchen. After breakfast, follow the River Danube in a relaxing pace cycling downstream to Ottensheim. After a short time you will reach Linz by train. Enjoy a short stroll through the charming old town before your bike route continues to the Machland region. Today you cycle along the Danube cycle path from Mitterkirchen in Upper Austria to Grein. Here the scenically most impressive Strudengau region starts with its steep rugged precipices of the Danube Valley. Your bike tour ends in Hengstberg. During your cycling tour in Lower Austria you reach the well-known Wachau Valley and Melk, the gate to Austria's most famous wine growing region. Don´t miss during this cycle route to taste some of the excellent wines at one of the wine-growers taverns. Cycling through lovely vineyards of the Wachau Valley you reach Dürnstein. From here it is only a short stage until you arrive in Krems. Example of farm: Wein & Wohnen Rethaller in KremsDay 7 - From Krems to Vienna, approx. 40 km by bike + train ride
On your last cycling day, you can take the train from Krems to Tulln. From Tulln you cycle to Vienna the capital city of Austria. Enjoy the great variety of sights like Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna Hofburg or the Prater a fun fair park with its famous Ferris Wheel. Return from your cycling holidays along River Danube's cycle path to Passau, in Season A and B by train (transfer of your own bike not included), in season C by bus (transfer of your own bikes included) or on request by train (transfer of your own bikes not included).
Parking possibilities during your cycle holiday along the Danube cycle path:
In Passau, the car can be parked in a parking garage for the duration of the cycle tour.
Locked and covered parking garage: € 12 per day
Parking garage with E-connection: € 12 per day plus € 30 charging fee
Fenced and uncovered parking: € 8 per day
(Parking garage or parking space must be reserved prior your arrival of your cycling tour, payable on the spot)
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

Cycle Path - Austrian Danube
Length: The Danube Cycle Path in Austria - starting in Passau and finishing in Vienna - is 326 kilometers long.
Route description: The Danube cycle path Passau - Vienna is very well developed. The Danube cycle path in Austria is asphalted practically everywhere. You cycle along roads with little traffic on your bike tours, usually even on both sides of the river.
Signposting: On your cycle tour in Austria, follow the special signposts. The cycle paths in Upper and Lower Austria are marked with green, rectangular signs. The Danube cycle path in Austria is marked as such by name in most cases. (R1 in Upper Austria). Regional cycle paths connect to it.
Sights along the Danube Cycle Path Passau - Vienna
Passau: The city of three rivers welcomes you warmly on your cycle tour in Austria. This is where the Ilz and Inn flow into the Danube, causing it to swell into a mighty river. In Passau, the picturesque old town invites you to take a tour before the start of your cycle tour in Austria, which will certainly take you to Passau Cathedral with the largest church organ in the world. The Veste Oberhaus towers high above Passau.
Engelszell Abbey: Austria's only Trappist monastery is located almost directly on the Danube Cycle Path. In addition to the beautiful collegiate church, you should also visit the store on your cycling vacation in Austria, which sells excellent liqueurs from the monastery's own production.
Schlögener Schlinge: A mighty natural spectacle can be seen directly on the Danube cycle path during your cycle tour from Passau to Vienna. The river meanders around an extremely resistant rock formation. The short but steep climb to Schlögener Blick is definitely worth it. Wachau: The UNESCO World Heritage region of Wachau stretches between Melk and Krems in Lower Austria. The Danube Cycle Path leads directly through this famous Lower Austrian wine region. Even the Romans cultivated wine in terraces to the left and right of the Danube. Don't miss out on a visit to a wine tavern to sample the tangy Grüner Veltliner. Melk Benedictine Abbey can be seen from afar from the Danube Cycle Path. It impresses with its magnificent rooms and a well-known abbey library.
Vienna: Austria's capital is the destination of your cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path. Numerous sights invite you to visit: Schönbrunn Park and Palace, the Prater, the Ringstrasse with its numerous magnificent buildings, the Hofburg and much more. Not forgetting the countless theaters, above all the Burgtheater, the Vienna State Opera and smaller variety theaters offer entertaining hours in the evening.
