For eight days, you will discover the cultural highlights of Austria. You start in the Mozart city of Salzburg and cycle in the direction of the Salzkammergut with its magical mountains and lakes. The entire region was the European Capital of Culture 2024. By train you can reach Linz, the vibrant city on the Danube. From now on you follow the Danube, at a leisurely pace and always downhill, to the waltz city of Vienna, which has numerous sights in store for visitors.

You start your cycling holiday in the Mozart city of Salzburg and leave the city in the direction of Wallersee. On this stage through the Salzkammergut, you will already experience the special landscape that invites you to cycle. Your cycling holiday continues along the shores of the picturesque Mondsee to Austria's largest inland waterway, the Attersee - a highlight for anyone who wants to discover the Salzkammergut on two wheels.

Well fortified from breakfast, you start your stage of your cycling holiday with the short ascent into the Weißenbachtal valley. As you cycle through the impressive Salzkammergut region, you will be rewarded with a rapid descent to the banks of the Traun. Your tour through Upper Austria now takes you along the Traun to Ebensee am Traunsee - a real highlight for anyone who wants to enjoy their holiday by bike. Take a leisurely boat trip to Gmunden and experience the Salzkammergut from its most beautiful side.

You continue your cycle tour along the River Traun to Lambach and enjoy the varied landscape of Upper Austria. Then continue by train to Linz, where your cycling holiday continues in an exciting way. Take a discovery tour through the city. Numerous attractions await you, such as the Ars Electronica Museum with its fascinating Deep Space or the modern Lentos Art Museum.

Cycling past the Danube town of Mauthausen, your tour takes you into the impressive natural landscape of the Danube floodplains. Along the Danube Cycle Path, you can enjoy unspoilt floodplain landscapes where rare animals and plants can be discovered.

Experience the history of the once dangerous Danube navigation at the Greinburg Maritime Museum - an exciting stopover on your cycling holiday along the Danube Cycle Path. The journey through the Wachau is a real highlight for anyone who wants to combine culture and enjoyment while cycling. A real cultural firework awaits you along the Danube cycle path - from visits to traditional wine cellars to the unique cultural landscape of this UNESCO World Heritage region. Tip: After your cycling holiday, take a leisurely tram ride along the Ring and experience many of Vienna's sights, such as the State Opera, Hofburg, Parliament, Votive Church and City Hall - a perfect end to your holiday by bike through the Salzkammergut and the Danube.

Return transfer by train to Salzburg (included). You must book your own bike spaces yourself with Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).

We recommend parking your car at the Linzer Gasse Garage (access Glockengasse, approx. a 4 minutes’ walk to the centre) rates approx.
The cost of a weekly ticket is approximately € 90,00 (arrival must be on a working day).
Each additional day is approximately € 30,00.

Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before departure
50% of the tour price from the 13th to the 8th day before departure
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before departure
90% of the tour price from the 3rd day before departure until the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

In case of a booking your announced data will be only used from OÖ Touristik GmbH for the process of bookings and related transactions and will be passed on only in the context of the contractual relationship to third parties. Standard information
The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302.
This ensures that you will benefit from all EU rights applicable to packages. OÖ Touristik GmbH will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package.
As per law in the event of insolvency of OÖ Touristik GmbH the company refunds payments already made and additionally takes care of return transport, if originally included.

The tour operator OÖ Touristik GmbH, Freistädter Str. 119, 4041 Linz has completed a bankruptcy insurance with Raiffeisen Landesbank Oberösterreich AG, Europaplatz 1a, 4020 Linz. The liquidator is the Europäische Reiseversicherung AG, Kratochwjlestraße 4, 1220 Wien, Email: info@europaeische.at, 24-hour emergency number: +43 1 3172500.
Travelers have to contact the liquidator within 8 weeks if they are denied claims due to the insolvency of OÖ Touristik GmbH. Details on the business license of OÖ Touristik GmbH can be found on the website https://www.gisa.gv.at/abfrage under the GISA number 14930096.
