Day 1 - Individual arrival in Husum
Arrival on your cycling holiday in Husum. The market and the old town are decorated with picturesque merchants houses in the Renaissance, Gothic and Classicist styles. The facades are a contemporary reminder of the small port town‘s old trading tradition. During a stroll through the city you will discover the ducal Renaissance castle with its castle gardens and the dreamy inland harbor. A walk to the Theodor Storm House is also worthwhile. The great North Sea poet lived and worked in Husum. Many of his novellas such as “Pole Poppenspäler” or “Der Schimmelreiter” were written here and provide a deep insight into the soul of North Frisia. Overnight stay in Husum. On your cycling holiday in Germany you will discover the wild mud flats of the North Frisian coast. You cycle past Bredstedt to Dagebüll. You have enough time to enjoy the natural beauty of the country, as you only take the ferry (included) to the island of Föhr in the afternoon. You will spend today on the green island, which is heavily influenced by agriculture, farm shops run by rural producers invite you to stock up on a delicious picnic for your bike tour through the quiet, wide island. In the morning you take the ferry (included) to the neighboring island. The Amrum lighthouse proudly welcomes the newly arrived cycling holidaymakers. All roads lead to the beach here: So, first park your bike and let your gaze wander over the Kniepsand, which seems to merge into the horizon. On the 5th day of cycling, you explore the island of Amrum with its vast dune landscape, Frisian houses and the famous Kniepsand. A visit to the beach is a must today. The ferry (included) takes you back to Dagebüll. You cycle along the dikes to Bredstadt, the geographical center of North Frisia. Parking possibilities
You can park your car at your starting hotel or a public parking garage during your cycle tour in Germany. The costs are between € 6,00 and € 15,00 per day, payable locally (no reservation possible).
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 7 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before departure
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before departure
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before departure
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before departure until the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 30 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
