On this wonderful cycle tour starting from the Bavarian capital over the Reschen Pass to the spa town of Meran and on to Lake Garda, even less experienced cyclists can have fun crossing the Alps. Magnificent views accompany you on the path along Lake Starnberg. The historical Lüftl painting on the house facades in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald will delight you. You will be amazed by the views of Zugspitze, Karwendel and Ortler. And the well-developed cycle path in South Tyrol will put a smile on your face. A crossing of the Alps can be so diverse and comfortable.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Munich
You start your cycling trip in Germany by checking in and picking up your bike. An extensive tour through the state capital of Bavaria awaits visitors with numerous sights. Example of hotel: Mariott City West in MunichDay 2 - From Munich to Starnberger See, approx. 45-60 km
From Munich you cycle through Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg. From Starnberg on the cycle path you go directly along the lakeshore to Ambach or further to Bernried. The lake attracts with crystal clear water and wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Example of hotel: Landhotel Huber at Starnberger SeeDay 3 - From Starnberger See to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, approx. 65 km
Your bike tour starts today passing the Riegsee to Murnau. You continue cycling through the Murnauer Moos nature reserve and through untouched nature following the Loisach River to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Here you can also take a ride on the Zugspitzbahn at an altitude of 2,962 m (not included). From there is a wonderful view over the Alps. You cycle along the Isar through the sunny high valley with wonderful panoramas of the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains to Mittenwald. You should take a break here and stroll through the place decorated with paintings. The spectacular journey then continues through Leutaschklamm to Austria. You cycle along the Leutaschen stream which leads you through a beautiful valley to your overnight location. Today you cycle across to the Inn Valley. You leave Leutasch on a country road before an eight-kilometer-long descent leads to Telfs. You cycle along the Inn on the former towpath and reach Stams with its baroque Cistercian monastery. Via Haiming it is not far to Imst, the “Meran of North Tyrol”. Example of hotel: Hotel Hirschen in ImstDay 6 - From Imst to St. Valentin/Burgeis/Mals, approx. 40-50 km + bustransfer
On the 6th cycling day you go along the Inn past the Zams Monastery to Landeck. Here a bus transfer takes you up to Nauders. There are still almost 70 meters of altitude left to reach the Reschen Pass. This is followed by the descent to Lake Reschen and further on the cycle path to Mals with its many-towered town center or Burgeis at the foot of Marienburg. The first highlight of your cycling trip is the completely preserved medieval city wall of Glurns. You cycle down to Meran via the Montani ruins through Schlanders. Castles and palaces lie along or high above the path. You can enjoy views of the impressive Ortler massif and the Stelvio Pass while cycling. The Vinschgau Railway between Mals and Merano has been opened again in 2004, with which part of the route can be covered almost at any time. Via Lana and through numerous fruits and vineyards in the area of the Wineroute you cycle past many fortified castles, palaces and ruins such as Hocheppan with its important frescoes to Lake Kaltern. You will spend the night in the cozy wine town of Auer. Example of hotel: Villa Groff in AuerDay 9 - From Auer to Trient, approx. 45 km
Today you cycle along the beautiful developed cycle path along the Etsch to Salurn, where the german-speaking South Tyrol ends. The famous Trentino vineyards lie to the side of the dam paths. These lead to Trento with its interesting old town with cathedral and Buonconsiglio Castle. Example of hotel:NH Hotel in TrentoDay 10 - From Trient to Torbole/Riva, approx. 50 km
On the last day of your cycling trip, you continue to follow the Etsch cycle path via the old Tyrolean border town Rovereto to Mori. From here the tour leads west towards Lake Garda. In Mori you can taste the well-known pistachio ice cream or a freshly squeezed fruit juice at the Gelateria Bologna. After a short climb to the small Passo S. Parking facilities
You can park in the hotel garage for around € 140,00 per week.
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 75,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
