The climb over the Reschen Pass is easily bypassed, and while cycling through South Tyrol, you will discover impressive mountain landscapes, vineyards, and apple orchards.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Munich
Start your cycling holiday relaxed in the Bavarian state capital. Explore the English Garden, take photos of the Town Hall at Marienplatz, and enjoy Bavarian hospitality at the Hofbräuhaus.

You leave Munich through the Forstenrieder Park and cycle to Lake Starnberg. From Starnberg, you follow the lakeside directly to Ambach or continue to Bernried. The lake entices with its crystal-clear waters and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Your cycling tour today begins past Lake Riegsee on the way to Murnau. You then continue through the Murnauer Moos nature reserve and along the pristine Loisach River to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Here, you have the option to take a ride on the Zugspitzbahn up to 2,962 meters (at your own expense). From there, you will enjoy a spectacular view over the Alps.

A wonderful cycling path takes you to the Isar River. With views of the Karwendel and Wetterstein Mountains, you cycle through the sunny high valley to Mittenwald – famous for its Lüftlmalerei (traditional frescoes). Afterwards, you cross the border into Austria and enjoy cycling through the beautiful Leutasch Valley along the Leutascher Bach.

You leave Leutasch over gentle hills and enjoy a long descent to Telfs. Along the Inn River, you cycle on the former towpath to Stams, home to its baroque Cistercian abbey. Via Haiming, you reach Imst, known as the “Merano of North Tyrol.”
Example of hotel: Hotel Hirschen at ImstDay 6 - From Imst to St. Valentin/Burgeis/Mals, approx. 40-50 km + bustransfer
Your route takes you past the Zams Monastery to Landeck. From there, a bus comfortably carries you up to Nauders – so you can skip the climb to the Reschen Pass. Afterwards, you roll downhill to Lake Resia and continue to Mals or Burgeis – a highlight of any cycling tour through the Alps.
Example of hotel: Hotel zum Hirschen in MalsDay 7 - From St. Valentin/Burgeis/Mals to Meran, approx. 60-70 km
Today, you experience cycling with panoramic views: passing through Glurns, Schlanders, and past Messner's Castle Juval, you make your way to Merano. Castles, vineyards, and the impressive Ortler massif accompany you along the route. Alternatively, you can comfortably cover parts of the journey with the Vinschgau Railway.

Cycling through Lana and numerous orchards and vineyards along the South Tyrolean Wine Road, you pass many fortified castles, palaces, and ruins, such as Hocheppan with its significant frescoes, on your way to Lake Caldaro. Overnight stay is in the charming wine village of Auer.

You follow the well-developed Adige Cycle Path through Salurn – where the German-speaking South Tyrol ends – into the Trentino wine region. The levee paths lead you leisurely to Trento, where the cathedral and Buonconsiglio Castle await your visit.

Your final stage takes you along the Adige River through Rovereto to Mori. At the traditional Gelateria Bologna, enjoy delicious pistachio ice cream or fresh juice – a sweet highlight of your cycling holiday. After a short climb at Passo S. Giovanni (150 m), you roll downhill to Lake Garda, arriving in Torbole or Riva.

Parking facilities
You can park in the hotel garage for around € 125,00 - € 150,00 per week or you may use free public parking.
Note for people with reduced mobility
The cycle tour is generally not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, individual customer requests are possible in individual cases (e.g. handicapped accessible rooms).
Passport and visa requirements
A valid passport or ID card is required for hotel check-in.
Special entry requirements may apply to foreign citizens (outside the Schengen area). Each traveller is responsible for obtaining a visa in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

Additionally, as required by law, the company OÖ Touristik GmbH has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.
