Your cycling holiday along the Enns Cycle Path begins in the historic town of Radstadt, also known as the “old town in the mountains”. A charming introduction to your cycling holiday in Austria.
Example of hotel: Hotel Brüggler in RadstadtDay 2 - From Radstadt to Gröbming, approx. 45 km
Follow the young Enns River into Styria, surrounded by alpine landscapes. The impressive south faces of the Dachstein massif accompany you all the way to Schladming, a famous World Ski Championship town. The route then takes you through the wide Enns Valley, past farms and villages, before a short climb brings you to Gröbming.
Example of hotel: Hotel Amadeus in GröbmingDay 3 - From Gröbming to Admont, approx. 55 km
Today's stage is filled with scenic variety. You cycle through the broad Enns Valley with views of the rugged Gesäuse mountains. In Admont, a cultural highlight awaits: the Benedictine Abbey with the largest monastic library in the world. This baroque masterpiece is one of the most impressive sights along the Enns Cycle Path in Styria.
Example of hotel: Hotel Spirodom in AdmontDay 4 - From Admont to St. Gallen, approx. 55 km
The Enns cuts through the Gesäuse National Park in a spectacular 20 km gorge. Towering cliffs, roaring waters and untouched wilderness make this section one of Austria's most breathtaking natural wonders. Your destination is the traditional village of St. Gallen, offering warm hospitality.
Example of hotel: Hotel Hensle in St. GallenDay 5 - From St. Gallen to Großraming, approx. 45 km
Say farewell to Gallenstein Castle before entering the Kalkalpen National Park. Its dense forests and rare wildlife create a true nature paradise – home to lynx, eagles and many other species. A shuttle transfer brings you comfortably over the Mooshöhe Pass (500 m ascent), before you enjoy an easy ride down to Großraming.
Example of hotel: Hotel Kirchenwirt in GroßramingDay 6 - From Großraming to Steyr, approx. 40 km
This stage is all about history. The Enns was once an important trade route for iron and ore, transported on rafts. Museums and demonstration workshops tell the story of this fascinating tradition. Your day ends in the romantic town of Steyr, where the rivers Enns and Steyr meet amidst a beautifully preserved old town.
Hotel example: Stadthotel Styria in SteyrDay 7 - From Steyr to Linz, approx. 50 km
At Steyr, the Enns joins the Steyr River and continues to the town of Enns, Austria's oldest city with roots going back to the Celts and Romans. The Lauriacum Roman Museum is worth a visit. From there, cycle to Linz, Austria's vibrant cultural capital on the Danube, where your bike tour on the Enns Cycle Path comes to a rewarding end.
