On this tour, you’ll discover two of the most beautiful islands in the Baltic Sea. The tour starts in Stralsund. From here, the circular route takes you across Rügen, Germany’s largest island, featuring impressive natural highlights such as the chalk cliffs in Jasmund National Park, the vast Bodden landscape and the picturesque coastal villages.
The journey then continues via the birthplace of the painter Caspar David Friedrich to the island of Usedom. There, the famous imperial spas invite you to take relaxing strolls along the promenade or enjoy a refreshing break on the beach.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Stralsund
Individual arrival in Stralsund, the historic Hanseatic city on the Baltic Sea. Stroll through the picturesque old town with its three churches and impressive town hall and soak up your first impressions of this maritime culture. At the OZEANEUM and the German Maritime Museum (each on your own initiative), you'll learn fascinating facts about the local and more distant seas.
Example of hotel: Hotel am JungfernstiegDay 2 - From Stralsund to Wittow, approx. 45–60 km + ferry crossing (on your own)
You begin your cycling tour along the Baltic Sea via the Rügendamm and reach the first island of the tour – Rügen. After crossing the Strelasund, you cycle northwards along the west coast. Take the Wittow ferry (at your own expense) to the Wittow peninsula, surrounded by picturesque beaches, Bodden landscapes and charming villages – ideal for peaceful cycling and short photo stops.

If you don't mind the extra mileage, you should plan a detour to Cape Arkona before the start of the stage – a popular destination with impressive cliffs and historic lighthouses. Your cycle tour then takes you along the Baltic Sea from Wittow, through the idyllic “Lange Moor”, to the north-east of Rügen. Cycle through Jasmund National Park with its rustic beech forest and the famous chalk cliff known as the “Königsstuhl”. Along the way, small cafés and restaurants invite you to sample regional specialities. Your destination for the day is the charming town of Sassnitz, the perfect place to wind down and enjoy an evening meal with a view of the Baltic Sea.
Example of hotel:Kurhotel SassnitzDay 4 - From Sassnitz/surrounding area to Putbus/surrounding area, approx. 40–70 km
From Sassnitz, cycle southwards, passing the imposing Prora complex. The route continues through the seaside resorts of Binz and Sellin and across the scenic Mönchgut peninsula. Your destination is Putbus, where you can relax and wind down at the end of your day – and your cycling holiday along the Baltic Sea.

From Putbus, cycle south and leave Rügen via the Glewitz ferry. From Stahlbrode, the route continues to Greifswald, the birthplace of Caspar David Friedrich. The historic old town, with its churches and traces of the Swedish era, is well worth exploring. Of particular interest is the Caspar David Friedrich Art Trail, which leads to some of the painter's most beautiful scenes

Passing the ruins of Eldena Abbey, a famous subject of Caspar David Friedrich's paintings – your cycling tour continues along the Baltic Sea to the island of Usedom. From Freest, you have the option of taking a ferry to Peenemünde. You cycle along quiet paths through coastal woods and dune landscapes via Trassenheide to the seaside resort of Zinnowitz. Stylish hotels in the Wilhelminian style lend the town its special charm and make for a relaxing end to your cycling holiday on the Baltic Sea.

Today, on Usedom – Germany's number one sun-drenched island – you can enjoy a perfect combination of beach, nature and culture. The extensive coastline stretching from Peenemünde to Koserow is ideal for leisurely walks by the sea. Your cycling tour along the Baltic Sea takes you past the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser lagoon to the famous ‘Three Sisters': Bansin, Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck. Heringsdorf, the island's oldest seaside resort, is directly linked to Bansin and Ahlbeck by a beautiful beach promenade – ideal for cycling, strolling or taking short breaks by the water.

Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 21st day before departure
60% of the tour price from the 20th to the 7th day before departure
80% of the tour price from 6th to 1st day before departure
90% of the tour price from the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

Travelers have to contact the liquidator within 8 weeks if they are denied claims due to the insolvency of OÖ Touristik GmbH. Details on the business license of OÖ Touristik GmbH can be found on the website https://www.gisa.gv.at/abfrage under the GISA number 14930096.
Parking facilities
You can travel to Stralsund by train or car. The distance from Stralsund Central Station to the hotel is approximately 1,5 km (about a 20-minute walk). There are also parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the station.
In the Kaiserbäder district, Heringsdorf station is located approximately 900 m to 2 km from the hotel. Parking in Stralsund is available in the multi-storey car park at the Intercity Hotel with a weekly ticket for approx. € 60,00. Free parking spaces are available outside the Mecklenburger Radtour office, subject to availability. Hotel parking costs approx. € 10,00–17,00 per day and is payable on site.
