The Tauern cycle path in Austria escorts you along gently hilly cycle paths from the Hohe Tauern National Park to Salzburg, birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The cycle tour through Salzburg’s countryside leads in comfortable stages along the riverside of River Saalach and River Inn through Austria and Bavaria to the 3-river-city of Passau. Countless sights await your visit along the cycle path: the impressive Krimmler Waterfalls, the picturesque Bad Reichenhall, the city of Salzburg, the lovely Burghausen, the health resort Bad Füssing and finally Passau at the confluence of River Inn, River Ilz and River Danube.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Krimml (Optional transfer from Passau to Krimml)
You receive your travel documents for the Tauern cycle path and check in your hotel in Krimml. We recommend the arrival to Krimml, if you bring your own bikes. If you book rental bikes, the arrival in Passau is necessary. The rental station is situated in Passau and the booking of the bus transfer from Passau to Krimml (EUR 119,00 per person) is obligatory. The Tauern cycle path starts on the foot of Europe's largest waterfalls. The snowy mountain peaks accompany you during this great cycle route through the Pinzgau valley. Lush green meadows, lovely farmhouses and picturesque villages await you. Leaving the cycle path along the River Salzach behind, continue your cycle tour in Austria through the wide valley of the Saalachtal. After Saalfelden the mountains come closer. In Passau, the car can be parked in a parking garage for the duration of the cycle tour.
Locked and covered parking garage: EUR 12,- per day
Parking garage with E-connection: EUR 12,- per day plus EUR 30,- charging fee
Fenced and uncovered parking: EUR 8,- per day
(Parking garage or parking space must be reserved and paid for in advance when booking the bike tour)
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
