Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Trier

Arrival for your cycling holiday on the Moselle cycle path and check-in. Enjoy a tour through the historic city centre, past the Kaiserthermen “Emperor's Therme” and the Porta Nigra on your arrival day. The next day you start your cycle tour along the Moselle cycle path. If you have booked a rental bike, you will receive it at the arrival hotel. Example of hotel: Hotel Vienna House Easy in Trier
  • Day 2 - From Trier to Trittenheim, approx. 45 km

You will leave Germany's oldest city and cycle past the port of Trier to Schweich, with its striking historic Ferry Tower. Continue cycling to Longuich, where you can visit the remains of a residential complex from Roman times. Your Moselle bike tour takes you through vineyards enjoying a beautiful view of the river. Leisurely cycling you will reach Trittenheim, an enchanting place that lies directly on a loop of the Moselle. In the evening, you can look forward to a small wine tasting, here on your cycling vacation in Germany on the Roman Wine Road. Example of hotel: Hotel Moselkloster in Trittenheim
  • Day 3 - From Trittenheim to Traben-Trarbach, approx. 50 km

Today's day trip is definitely a highlight of your bike tour along the Moselle. Cliché-like beautiful, with numerous river bends and sunny vineyards, this section of the Moselle cycle path you will conquer today. Be enchanted by romantic Bernkastel-Kues with its medieval marketplace and old half-timbered houses. Majestically above the old town lies the ruins of Landshut Castle. For the steep climb (on foot) you will be rewarded with an incomparable view over the River Moselle. Pure romance also in Traben-Trarbach on the Moselle Cycle Path: magnificent villas in the center and forest and vineyards that nestle around the city. The ruins of Grevenburg Castle loom mightily above. Example of hotel: Hotel Trabener Hof in Traben-Trarbach
  • Day 4 - From Traben-Trarbach to Cochem, approx. 55 km

Relaxed you start the next stage of your bike tour in Germany. Today you'll pass through one of the largest wine-growing areas here along the River Moselle. Nestled between the Mosel loop and the vineyards lies the impressive Stuben monastery ruins. You should definitely plan a short detour there during your Moselle cycling tour. At the foot of the steepest vineyards in Europe in the Calmont (65-76% gradient!) lies the picturesque Mosel village of Bremm. Along further narrow Moselle loops, you will reach today's stage destination Cochem via Beilstein, with the Reichsburg as its landmark. A tour of the castle is included and is today, or the next day for you on the program of your cycling vacation on the Moselle. Example of hotel: Hotel Zehnthof in Cochem
  • Day 5 - From Cochem to Koblenz, approx. 50 km

Today you leave the narrow valley of the Moselle and cycle along the forested shore past Klotten and Treis-Karden to Moselkern. In steep serpentines a path leads through the mountains of the Moselle to Eltz Castle, one of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in Germany. (We recommend a hike or the 'Regio-Radler-Burgenbus.') Other castles and the wine-growing villages of Kobern-Gondorf and Güls line your cycle path to the Deutsches Eck in Coblenz. The mighty equestrian statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I, at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers, greets you stately as you bid farewell to your bike tour along the River Moselle. Example of hotel: Ghotel in Koblenz
  • Day 6 - Individual departure or extra nights

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
