The Moselle Cycle Route takes you along pleasant flat stretches past rolling vineyards, romantic wine-growing villages and picturesque old towns. Along the way, cosy wineries invite you to taste fine Rieslings, while traditional inns tempt you to linger with regional specialities.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Trier
Your cycling tour along the Moselle Cycle Path begins with your arrival and check-in at your hotel. Use the first day to take a leisurely stroll through the historic old town, past the impressive Imperial Baths and the world-famous Porta Nigra. Soak up the special atmosphere of this historic city before setting off on the first stage of your journey along the Moselle the next day. If you have booked a hire bike, it will be waiting for you at the hotel.

The first stage of the Moselle Cycle Route takes you from Trier along the river to Schweich with its striking ferry tower. In Longuich, it is worth stopping at the Roman excavations before cycling through idyllic vineyards with magnificent views of the Moselle to Trittenheim. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely wine tasting in this charming wine village on the Roman Wine Route.

Today's stage takes you through sunny vineyards and picturesque Moselle loops to Bernkastel-Kues, where the medieval market square and half-timbered houses enchant every visitor. High above the town, the ruins of Landshut Castle offer breathtaking views of the Moselle valley. The route continues to Traben-Trarbach, known for its Art Nouveau villas, vineyards and romantic atmosphere along the Moselle.

Well rested, you will start the next stage of your Moselle cycle tour through one of Germany's largest wine-growing regions. One highlight is the picturesque ruins of Stuben Abbey, before you cycle along the famous Calmont, Europe's steepest vineyard, to Bremm. The Moselle Cycle Route continues through narrow river bends to Cochem, where the imposing Reichsburg Cochem castle awaits you.

Today, you will leave the narrow Moselle valley and cycle along wooded banks past Klotten and Treis-Karden to Moselkern. Steep switchbacks will take you to Eltz Castle, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved castles in Germany – ideal for a hike or a trip on the “Regio-Radler-Burgenbus” (regional castle bus). Your Moselle Cycle Route continues through picturesque wine-growing villages such as Kobern-Gondorf and Güls to the Deutsches Eck in Koblenz, where the imposing equestrian statue of Emperor Wilhelm I greets you majestically as you bid farewell to your cycle tour along the Moselle.

Parking facilities
Some of the hotels have their own parking facilities directly on the premises, which are either free of charge or subject to a fee (approx. € 12,00 per day or night). In the immediate vicinity, there are public parking garages or parking spaces (free of charge or subject to a fee).
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes to the booking (date of travel, tour, duration, transfer of the booking to another person etc.) up to 28 days before departure, for reasons which are outside our control, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,- per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

In case of a booking your announced data will be only used from OÖ Touristik GmbH for the process of bookings and related transactions and will be passed on only in the context of the contractual relationship to third parties. The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302.
This ensures that you will benefit from all EU rights applicable to packages. Company OÖ Touristik GmbH will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole.
Additionally, as required by law, the company OÖ Touristik GmbH has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.
