On the first day of cycling, your tour takes you from Huizen via the historic fortified town of Naarden and charming Muiden with its impressive Muiden Castle to Amsterdam. There you will find canals, bridges and countless bicycles. The city delights with art, culture, shopping and culinary delights. You will continue cycling along the dyke to Volendam, where the former fishing village with its lively harbour atmosphere, narrow streets and cosy restaurants will bring the day to an atmospheric close.
Example of hotel: Hotel Old Dutch in Volendam or Hotel Spaander in VolendamDay 3 - From Volendam to Enkhuizen, approx. 50 km
Today's stage of your cycling holiday in Holland takes you along the Bay of Hoorn (Hoornse Hop) on the Markermeer coast. Along the way, you will cycle past charming towns and villages such as Edam and Hoorn. Your destination, Enkhuizen, invites you to visit the Zuiderzee Open Air Museum and other sights, offering the perfect end to an eventful day of cycling.

From Enkhuizen, take the ferry (approx. 1,5 hours) across the Ijsselmeer to Stavoren in south-western Friesland. From there, cycle through the wooded, gently sloping Gaasterland with its striking cliffs along the Ijsselmeer coast to Lemmer.
Example of hotel: Hotel It Heechus in Lemmer or Sporthotel Iselmar in LemmerDay 5 - From Lemmer to Kampen, approx. 65 -70 km
Today, your cycling tour in Holland takes you along idyllic lakes and canals to De Weerribben National Park. You cycle through the picturesque moorland via Blokzijl, Sint Jansklooster, Zwartsluis and Genemuiden to Kampen. Blokzijl, once located on the shores of the Zuiderzee, still delights visitors today with its historic harbour. In Zwartsluis, a lively little town at the intersection of several waterways, we recommend taking a short ferry crossing before reaching your destination, the historic Hanseatic city of Kampen, via the Kamper Seedeich.
Example of hotel: Hotel Boetiekhotel in Kampen or Stadsboerderij Kampen in KampenDay 6 - From Kampen to Harderwijk, approx. 50-55 km
In the former tobacco town of Kampen, you can admire the remains of the 14th-century city wall before continuing your route along the Dronten and Veluwemeer lakes to the picturesque, fortified town of Elburg. You will then cycle across the Elspeetse Heide and through the forests of Leuvenum, were, with a bit of luck, you may spot deer or wild boar. Gentle climbs alternate with relaxed descents. Today's stage ends in the charming town of Harderwijk.
Example of hotel: Best Western Hotel Baars in Harderwijk or Hotel Monopole in HarderwijkDay 7 - From Harderwijk to Huizen, approx. 50 km
From Harderwijk, you cycle through the Arkemheen-Eemland National Landscape. Grazing cows, startled black-tailed godwits and lapwings accompany you, while endless views over meadows, water and sky make the route a special nature experience. Along the shores of the Randmeren, you will reach Bunschoten-Spakenburg, where a visit to the costume and fishing museum is well worth your while. Your cycling tour in Holland finally ends where it began: in Huizen.
