Individual arrival in the beautiful Bregenz/Höchst region, the perfect starting point for your cycling holiday on Lake Constance. Enjoy the mild climate, the view of the Alps and the Mediterranean flair of the Lake Constance region.
Example of hotel: das smarte Hotel in Höchst
  • Day 2 - From Bregenz/Höchst to Constance, approx. 55–65 km

Your cycling tour takes you through the impressive Rhine Delta Nature Reserve, Europe's largest freshwater delta. In Switzerland, vast orchards and rolling hills await you in the canton of Thurgau. As you cycle along the sparkling Lake Constance, you will be treated to magnificent views of the foothills of the Alps. If you wish, you can shorten the stage by about 20 km (on your own) by taking the train from Romanshorn to Constance.
Example of hotel: B+B Hotel in Constance
  • Day 3 - From Constance to the Stein am Rhein region, approx. 30–40 km

In idyllic Gottlieben, you cross the border and should not miss the delicious chocolate specialities in the Gottlieber factory shop. Cycling past picturesque fishing villages, you will arrive in charming Stein am Rhein, famous for its painted half-timbered houses. The medieval Hohenklingen Castle towers high above the old town. Crossing the Rhine from Diessenhofen to Gailingen via the historic wooden bridge dating from 1816 is a special experience.
Example of hotel: Gasthof Hirschen in Gailingen
  • Day 4 - Day Trip to the Rhine Falls, approx. 40–50 km

Today, another highlight of your cycling tour on Lake Constance awaits you: the Munot town of Schaffhausen with its medieval facades and narrow streets. The Rhine Cycle Route then takes you to the impressive Rhine Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in Europe – a natural spectacle that will inspire you.
Example of hotel: Gasthof Hirschen in Gailingen
  • Day 5 - From the Stein am Rhein region to the Radolfzell/Bodman region, approx. 35–50 km

You will enjoy a leisurely cycle ride across the Höri peninsula, which became known as an ‘artists' landscape' thanks to artists such as Otto Dix and Hermann Hesse. In Gaienhofen, it is worth visiting the Hesse Museum before ending the day in Radolfzell with a stroll through the old town and a regional dinner.
Example of hotel: Hotel zur Schmiede in Radolfzell
  • Day 6 - From the Radolfzell/Bodman region to the Friedrichshafen region, approx. 40–60 km

Passing the vineyards of Sipplingen and the baroque monastery church of Birnau, your route takes you to Meersburg, a museum town with medieval flair. Continuing past orchards and vineyards, the route takes you to Friedrichshafen, where the Zeppelin Museum offers fascinating insights into aviation history.
Example of hotel: Gasthof Rebstock in Friedrichshafen
  • Day 7 - From the Friedrichshafen region to Bregenz/Höchst, approx. 35–45 km

On your final stage, you will reach Lindau, one of the most beautiful towns on Lake Constance. The old town on the island, surrounded by water and Alpine views, is an unforgettable stopover. Then it's on to Bregenz, where those who wish can take the cable car up the Pfänder (1,064 m) and enjoy the magnificent panoramic view. Through the idyllic Rhine delta, you finally return to Höchst – a delightful end to your cycling holiday around Lake Constance.
