The well-developed and almost entirely flat Lake Constance Cycle Route takes you through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The starting point is Constance, the historic council city. Along the way, you will discover charming places such as Stein am Rhein, Meersburg, Friedrichshafen and Bregenz. Day 1 - Individual arrival in Constance
Arrival for your cycling holiday on Lake Constance. Start your trip with a visit to the flower island of Mainau, explore the historic old town of Konstanz or discover the fascinating exhibitions at the Sea Life Centre and the Archaeological Museum.
Example of hotel: Hotel Ko‘Ono in KonstanzDay 2 - From Constance via Stein am Rhein to Constance, approx. 75–85 km
First, you cycle along Lake Gnadensee to the historic spa town of Radolfzell with its beautiful lake promenade. The route continues through charming countryside along the Höri peninsula to the medieval town of Stein am Rhein, famous for its fresco-painted houses. On the southern shore of Lake Constance, you then cycle through well-kept Swiss fishing villages back to Constance.
Example of hotel: Hotel Ko‘Ono in KonstanzDay 3 - From Constance to Lindau/Bregenz, approx. 50-65 km + ferry ride
From Konstanz, take the ferry to Meersburg and then cycle through vineyards to Friedrichshafen, where a visit to the Zeppelin Museum is well worth it. The route continues through extensive orchards to Lindau in Bavaria, with its old town located on an island. Along Bregenz Bay, you finally reach Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg, famous for its annual festival on the world's largest lake stage.
Example of hotel: Hotel Messmer BregenzDay 4 - From Lindau/Bregenz to Constance, approx. 70–90 km
First, you cycle through the nature reserve of the Rhine delta, where the Alpine Rhine flows into Lake Constance. Here, you cross the border into Switzerland and follow the last stage of your Lake Constance cycle tour, mostly directly along the lake. Passing the charming towns of Arbon and Romanshorn, you will return to Constance. The route is flat and, except in strong westerly winds, easy to master. Again and again, bathing spots invite you to refresh yourself in the cool water.

Hotel note: Your accommodation will mainly be in the hotels specified above however, in the event that a hotel is unavailable on the required date, an equivalent hotel will be booked.
Parking facilities
You can leave your car for your cycling holiday at Lake Constance either at the starting hotel (depending on availability, subject to a charge, details in the travel documents) or in free parking spaces on public roads or in public car parks (costs approx. € 25,00/day). Furthermore, there is a fenced and locked private parking for € 29,00 per stay and car (this parking space must be reserved and paid in advance).
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before departure
50% of the tour price from the 13th to the 8th day before departure
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before departure
90% of the tour price from the 3rd day before departure until the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

In case of a booking your announced data will be only used from OÖ Touristik GmbH for the process of bookings and related transactions and will be passed on only in the context of the contractual relationship to third parties. The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302.
This ensures that you will benefit from all EU rights applicable to packages. Company OÖ Touristik GmbH will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole.
Additionally, as required by law, the company OÖ Touristik GmbH has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.

The tour operator OÖ Touristik GmbH, Freistädter Str. 119, 4041 Linz has completed a bankruptcy insurance with Österreichischen Hotel- und Tourismusbank Gesellschaft m.b.H., Parkring 12a, 1010 Wien. The liquidator is the TVA-Tourismusversicherungsagentur GmbH, Baumannstraße 9/8, A-1030 Vienna, Email: abwicklung@tourismusversicherung.at, 24-hour emergency number: +43 1 361907744.
Travelers have to contact the liquidator within 8 weeks if they are denied claims due to the insolvency of OÖ Touristik GmbH. Details on the business license of OÖ Touristik GmbH can be found on the website https://www.gisa.gv.at/abfrage under the GISA number 14930096.
