Lake Constance is not only a paradise for cyclists, but also for children. On this family-friendly cycling tour, you will circle the eastern part of the lake, the Obersee, and cycle through well-known places such as Konstanz, Meersburg, Friedrichshafen, Lindau, Bregenz and Arbon, mostly directly along the shore. The stages are deliberately kept short so that there is enough time to explore, play and enjoy yourself.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Constance
Arrival for your cycling holiday on Lake Constance. Take the opportunity to visit the flower island of Mainau, stroll through the historic old town of Constance or discover the fascinating underwater world at the Sea Life Centre and the Archaeological Museum. A perfect start to your trip on Lake Constance.
Example of hotel: Apartment-Hotel KonstanzDay 2 - From Constance to Unteruhldingen approx. 30 km + Ship- and Ferry Ride
First, cycle to Wallhausen, where you will board a boat to Überlingen. Continue along the lake to Birnau Abbey Church, which offers a magnificent view over Lake Constance. In Unteruhldingen, you can explore the fascinating prehistoric pile dwellings. From Meersburg, take the ferry back to Constance.
Example of hotel: Apartment-Hotel KonstanzDay 3 - From Constance via Meersburg to Friedrichshafen, approx. 25 km + Ferry Ride
The day begins with a ferry ride from Constance to Meersburg. Visit the castle and let yourself be transported back to medieval times. Then continue your cycle tour to Friedrichshafen. One highlight is the Zeppelin Museum, which offers fascinating insights into the history of airship travel. From the lakeside promenade, you can enjoy magnificent views of Lake Constance and the Alps.
Example of hotel: Buchhorner Hof in FriedrichshafenDay 4 - From Friedrichshafen to Lindau, approx. 30 km
If you have not yet visited the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, you can easily do so today. Cycle through extensive orchards past the charming towns of Langenargen and Kressbronn. In Langenargen, it is worth stopping at the pretty Moorish-style Montfort Castle. You will then reach the Bavarian island town of Lindau, whose harbour is guarded by a six-metre-high lion.

Today, you will take your first break in Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg, famous for its annual festival on the world's largest lake stage. Take the cable car up to the summit of the Pfänder, enjoy the magnificent view over Lake Constance and encounter native animals in the Alpine Wildlife Park. Then cycle leisurely back down into the valley and continue your tour. Shortly after Höchst, you will cross the Swiss border and finally reach Rorschach or Arbon.
Example of hotel: Hotel Mozart in RorschachDay 6 - From Rorschach/Arbon to Constance, approx. 30–50 km
On the last day of your Lake Constance cycle tour, you will pass Romanshorn, home to Switzerland's largest Lake Constance harbour. The flat cycle path then leads back to Constance along Lake Constance, which is easy to master except when there is a strong westerly wind. Along the way, numerous bathing spots invite you to take a refreshing dip. Round off your trip with a leisurely stroll through the old town or an ice cream at the harbour.

Hotel note: Your accommodation will mainly be in the hotels specified above however, in the event that a hotel is unavailable on the required date, an equivalent hotel will be booked.
Parking possibilities
You can leave your car for your cycling holiday at Lake Constance either at the starting hotel (depending on availability, subject to a charge, details in the travel documents) or in free parking spaces on public roads or in public car parks (costs approx. € 25,00/day). Furthermore, a fenced car park is available for € 49,00 (bookable in advance).
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before departure
50% of the tour price from the 13th to the 8th day before departure
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before departure
90% of the tour price from the 3rd day before departure until the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
