Cycle along the upper Adriatic coast across the borders of three countries: Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. The link between these countries is the Republic of Venice, which has shaped this region with its thousand-year history and rule over the Gulf of Venice. You will make your way through the city of Aquileia with its famous archaeological sites and the impressive coastal towns of Trieste and Porec.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Mestre/Venice

After just a few kilometres by bike, today starts with a ferry ride to Lido, past St. Mark's Square, where you change to a motorboat and disembark in Punta Sabbioni. From the southern border of the Adriatic coast, you cycle on to Lido di Jesolo, where you spend the night depending on availability. Alternatively, continue cycling along the River Sile and follow the coast, lined with traditional fishermen's huts made of wood and reeds, the “casoni”. Today you head north towards the Julian Alps through beautiful lagoon areas. You reach one of the most important towns during the Venetian Republic, Portogruaro, which still impresses today with its magnificent “palazzi”. You can shorten today's cycling day by 20 kilometres with a train ride from Portogruaro to Latisana. Today you cycle along the eastern border between Friuli and Veneto. Through an area rich in both water and history, with old Roman towns and canals. You can also enjoy a short diversion to the star city of Palmanova or cycle directly to today's stage destination Aquileia. On day 5 of your cycle tour, you will cross the Isonzo River, which was the scene of many major battles during the First World War. You cycle on towards the Gulf of Trieste. There you can choose from a variety of rest stops, including the picturesque Duino with its two castles, Sistiana known for its distinctive bay and Miramare with its castle built at the request of Maximilian von Habsburg. Today's stage ends in Trieste. Optionally, the stage can be extended by 25 kilometres to explore Grado in the Marano lagoon. The journey can be shortened by 30 kilometres by taking the train from Monfalcone to Trieste. Example of hotel: Hotel Victoria in TriestDay 6 - From Triest to Piran/Portoroz, approx. 45 km
Today you cycle across the border into Slovenia after just a few kilometres. Here you cycle along cycle paths through well-known towns such as Koper, first a Venetian and then an Austrian town, Piran, a long-dominated centre of Venice, until you reach Portorož, the famous spa and bathing destination. The last cycling stage of your cycling holiday takes you south through Saline of Secovlje, the largest wetland area in Slovenia and a particularly important place for ornithologists. After just a few kilometres you are in Croatia. There you cycle into idyllic Istria, the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. Continue cycling to Porec with its particularly impressive Euphrasian Basilica, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Parking facilities
Free parking at the hotel only during the overnight stay at the hotel. For the other nights you can park in the hotel garage for € 10/day or near the hotel: open and unguarded car park.
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 30 days before arrival date
25% of the tour price from 29th to 21st day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 20th to 14th day before arrival date
80% of the tour price from 13th to 6th day before arrival date
100% of the tour price from 5th day before arrival date to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

Additionally, as required by law, the company OÖ Touristik GmbH has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.
