Füssen-Bozen Via Claudia Augusta 2026 - Standard
Your cycle tour across the Alps begins on the historic Via Claudia Augusta, which crosses the Forggenstausee reservoir. After a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, you cycle along the Füssen Lech Falls into the Tyrolean Alps. A transfer takes you from Reutte to Fernsteinsee Castle, and the picturesque cycle path takes you through the Gurgltal valley to Imst and on to Landeck. Another transfer takes you to Nauders am Reschenpass. From Lake Reschen you follow the Adige cycle path through the orchards of the Vinschgau Valley to Merano and Bolzano.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Füssen
Begin your cycling tour with a visit to the world-famous castles of King Ludwig II before spending your first night in Füssen.

The cycle path first leads from Füssen to Reutte. From here, a comfortable transfer takes you over the Fern Pass, conserving your energy for the ride ahead. Your cycling tour through Tyrol continues from Fernstein Castle via Nassereith through the picturesque Gurgltal Valley to Imst. At Starkenberg Castle, a “beery” experience awaits you as you explore the traditional private brewery.

After a transfer to Nauders, you'll cross the main ridge of the Alps at the Reschen Pass — and with it, the border into Italy. Your cycling holiday in Italy begins! Cycling along Lake Reschen, you'll pass the famous church tower of Alt-Graun rising from the water. Continuing your bike tour through South Tyrol, you then enjoy a leisurely downhill ride towards Mals.

Today you'll enjoy one of the most beautiful stages of your cycling tour through Italy. The Adige Cycle Path takes you from the Upper Vinschgau Valley down to Merano. Along the way, you'll pass charming towns such as Glorenza, Lasa, and Naturno as you cycle through apple orchards and along the River Adige. Spend the evening in the spa town of Merano – the perfect place to end your day with a relaxing stroll along the Passer Promenade.

On your cycling tour through the Adige Valley, you'll discover the cultural and culinary richness of South Tyrol. Along the cycle path, you'll encounter the famous Schnatterpeck Altar in Lagundo, the tallest church tower in South Tyrol in Terlano, as well as numerous castles. Look forward to regional specialties such as asparagus, chestnuts, and fine local wines.

The final stage of your cycling tour across the Alps takes you through South Tyrol's wine region to the provincial capital, Bolzano.You can either enjoy a leisurely ride through the Adige Valley or take a more active route via the Montiggler Lakes. In Bolzano, experience the pure Italian way of life – from the arcaded streets to the famous Ötzi Museum.

Parking possibilities during your cycle holiday:
There are several parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the city centre.
In the underground car park P5 (City Sparkassenhaus), a 2-minute walk from the city centre, a 10-day ticket costs approx. € 60,00 (available at the ticket machine). Parking for less than 10 days is charged at approx. € 18,00 per day, so it is advisable to buy a 10-day ticket even for shorter parking periods, e.g. 7 days.

Note for people with reduced mobility
The cycle tour is generally not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, individual customer requests are possible in individual cases (e.g. handicapped accessible rooms).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 27th to 8th day before arrival date
80% of the tour price from 7th to 1 day before arrival date
100% of the tour price on the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 65,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
