Füssen-Bozen Via Claudia Augusta 2025 - Standard
Your cycle tour across the Alps begins on the historic Via Claudia Augusta, which crosses the Forggenstausee reservoir. After a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, you cycle along the Füssen Lech Falls into the Tyrolean Alps. A transfer takes you from Reutte to Fernsteinsee Castle, and the picturesque cycle path takes you through the Gurgltal valley to Imst and on to Landeck. Another transfer takes you to Nauders am Reschenpass. From Lake Reschen you follow the Adige cycle path through the orchards of the Vinschgau Valley to Merano and Bolzano.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Füssen
King Ludwig II and his fairytale castles welcome you. Example of hotel: Hotel zum Hechten in FüssenDay 2 - From Füssen/Schwangau to Imst, approx. 40 km + bus transfer
The cycle path first takes you from Füssen to Reutte. From here, the transfer takes you over the Fernpass, conserving your energy. Your cycle tour in Tyrol takes you from Fernstein Castle via Nassereith through the picturesque Gurgltal valley to Imst. A ‘beery' experience awaits you at Starkenberg Castle, where you can explore the traditional private brewery. You first cycle from Imst to Landeck. From there, you take the included transfer to Nauders. After a short time, you cross the border to Italy at the Reschen Pass and thus the main Alpine ridge. The cycle path takes you past the Reschen reservoir with one of the most famous photo spots in South Tyrol, the sunken church tower of Altgraun. On your cycle tour in South Tyrol, you can now let your bike speed along towards Mals. The flair of South Tyrol awaits you in the evening. On today's cycle tour in South Tyrol, you will cross the entire Vinschgau Valley. The Adige cycle path takes you from around 1.200 metres above sea level in Burgeis down to 350 metres above sea level in Meran. You often cycle directly along the Adige River and pass the towns of Glurns, Laas and Naturns before reaching the spa town of Meran. Round off this day of cycling with a leisurely evening stroll along the Passer promenade amidst a subtropical world of plants. There is much to marvel at on this cycle route: the famous Schnatterpeck altar in the church in Niederlana, the highest church tower in South Tyrol in Terlan and numerous castles and ruins on both sides of the valley. The region also has plenty of culinary delights to offer: Asparagus in Terlan, tasty chestnuts in Nals and, last but not least, excellent wines to savour. From the enchanting wine villages along the Adige Cycle Path, the cycle tour continues flat through the Adige Valley or (more scenic, but with a steeper incline) over the Monticolo lakes. Parking possibilities during your cycle holiday:
There are several parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the city centre.
In the underground car park P5 (City Sparkassenhaus), a 2-minute walk from the city centre, a 10-day ticket costs approx. € 60,00 (available at the ticket machine). Parking for less than 10 days is charged at approx. € 17,00 per day, so it is advisable to buy a 10-day ticket even for shorter parking periods, e.g. 7 days (subject to change).
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
