Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Innsbruck

You start your cycling tour in Austria and Italy in Innsbruck, the city in the heart of the Alps. Check-in and you receive your rented bike at the hotel. Enjoy an extensive sightseeing tour, visit the old town with it's famous 'Goldenes Dachl' and the entire cultural variety of Innsbruck. Example of hotel: Austria Trend Hotel Congress in Innsbruck
  • Day 2 - From Innsbruck to Imst, approx. 60 km

First, you cycle along the Inn cycle path through the Inn Valley to the famous Cistercian monastery of Stams. The rather flat cycle path leads the way on to the center of Haiming in the Tyrol. Continue a slight incline through a beautiful pine forest, where you can also visit the newly renovated Roman baths near Roppen. After a refreshment and break at the Kneipp water-treading basin - at least for the calves, the bike tour in Austria continues to the increasingly narrow Inn Valley to the fountain town of Imst. Example of hotel: Hotel Neuner in Imst
  • Day 3 - From Imst to the region Lago die Resia & Alta Venosta approx. 55 km + transfer

Today you cycle along the Inn cycle path from Imst to Landeck, where an organized transfer will take you to Nauders. Soon afterwards you pass the border to Italy at the Reschen pass and with it the main Alpine ridge. Past the Lake Reschen an artificial lake, the bike tour in South Tyrol leads to one of the region's most famous photo motifs - the sunken church tower of Altgraun. Continue downhill towards Malles and enjoy on your first evening in South Tyrol with a leisure stroll through the old lanes of the town. Example of hotel: Hotel Stocker in St. Valentin
  • Day 4 - From the region of Lago di Resia & Alta Venosta to Merano, approx. 65 km

Today you cross the entire Val Venosta along the Adige cycle path. The cycling route in South Tyrol leads from Burgeis, an altitude of more than 1,000m down to Merano, which is located at an altitude of 350m. Most of the route follows the course of River Adige. This pleasure cycling tour in Italy leads first down to Glorenza, the smallest town in the Alps. Past the marble town of Laas to Naturns and eventually past the impressive Kastelbell castle to the spa town of Merano. Enjoy an evening walk along the “Passer” promenade surrounded by subtropical flora. Example of hotel: Hotel Flora in Merano
  • Day 5 - From Merano to the region of Castelfeder, approx. 50 km

You should plan several worthwhile stops on day 5 during cycling tour along the Adige cycle path: the famous Schnatterpeck wing altar in the church of Niederlana, the highest church tower of the South Tyrol in Terlan, and a great number of castles and ruins such as Hocheppan (important frescoes!) and the 'Parish Church St. Pauls”. After an optional visit of Bolzano, you will have the opportunity to refresh your legs at Lake Caldora. Example of hotel: Hotel Turmwirt in the region of Castelfeder
  • Day 6 - From the region of Castelfeder to Triento, approx. 50 km

In the morning of the 6th day of your cycling holiday in Italy, swing yourself into the saddle of your bike and follow the Adige cycle path lined by orchards to Salorno. The stage finishes in the town of Trento, where a picturesque old town with the cathedral and Buonconsiglio castle awaits you. Example of hotel: Grand Hotel Trento
  • Day 7 - From Triento to Belluno Veronese and surroundings, approx. 55 km

Along the River Adige, you will leisurely cycle through small towns like Rovereto and Pilcante to Avio or the small town of Belluno Veronese. Where gourmets say - the noblest drops of wine in all of Italy has been grown since the 15th century. Although this region is less than 10 kilometers from Lake Garda away, there is much less tourism. Enjoy the tranquil peace over a good glass of local wine. Example of hotel: Hotel Olivo
  • Day 8 - From Belluno Veronese and surroundings to Verona, approx. 50 km

Before Verona, you have will have to overcome one little ascent on your cycling holiday in Italy. In the city of Romeo and Juliet there is a wealth of sights: the picturesque old town (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Arena, the Castelvecchio, Juliet's balcony and much more. Or you can simply enjoy the lively city and the dolce far niente. Example of hotel: Hotel San Marco
  • Day 9 - Individual departure or extra nights

Return transfer from your cycling holidays by bus to Innsbruck possible (please see rates).

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
