Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Innsbruck

The cycling holidays start with check-in and hand over of rented bikes if booked. Plan enough time to enjoy Innsbruck's cultural diversity. Example of hotel: Austria Trend Hotel Congress in Innsbruck
  • Day 2 - From Innsbruck to Imst, approx. 60 km

The cycle route along the Innradweg first leads to the famous Cistercian monastery of Stams and from there on to Haiming in Tyrol. This is followed by a gentle climb with a romantic section through a beautiful pine forest. You cycle along the increasingly narrow Inn valley to the fountain town of Imst. Example of hotel: Hotel Neuner in Imst
  • Day 3 - From Imst to to region lake Reschensee and Obervinschgau, approx. 55 km + transfer

On day 3, the bike tour in Tyrol leads along the Inn Cycle Path to the district capital Landeck. An organised transfer will take you from Landeck to Nauders, where you will cross the border to Italy and the main Alpine ridge at the Reschen Pass. Passing the Reschen reservoir, you speed downhill towards Mals. Example of hotel: Hotel Stocker in St. Valentin
  • Day 4 - From the region lake Reschensee and Obervinschgau to Merano approx. 65 km

The Etsch cycle path leads from around 1,200 m above sea level in Burgeis down to 350 m above sea level in Merano. You often cycle directly along the banks of the Etsch river. On this pleasure bike tour you reach the smallest town in the Alpine region after Glurns. The spa town of Merano is the destination of this stage on your cycling holiday in South Tyrol. An evening stroll along the Passer promenade amidst subtropical flora is a wonderful way to relax. Example of hotel: Hotel Flora in Meran
  • Day 5 - From Merano to region of Castelfeder, approx. 50 km

The cycling tour in Italy has some amazing sights in store: the famous Schnatterpeck altar in the church in Niederlana, the highest church tower in South Tyrol in Terlan and numerous castles and ruins on both sides of the valley. After a short detour to South Tyrol's capital Bolzano, Lake Kaltern offers a first-class opportunity to cool off tired cyclists' legs. Example of hotel: Hotel Turmwirt in the region Castelfeder
  • Day 6 - From region of Castelfeder to Trient, approx. 50 km

You follow the Adige river through orchards to Salurn, where German-speaking South Tyrol ends. This day's stage on your cycling holiday in Italy ends in Trento, where you are welcomed by the picturesque old town with its cathedral and Buonconsiglio Castle. Example of hotel: Grand Hotel Trient
  • Day 7 - From Trient to Riva del Garda, approx. 50 km

Via Rovereto and Mori you cycle to Lake Garda. After a short climb to the Passo San Giovanni (287 m), the descent to Torbole follows with a great view of the lake. Then continue cycling along the lakeshore to Riva del Garda. Example of hotel: Grand Hotel Riva
  • Day 8 - Individual departure or extra nights

Return transfer from your cycling holidays by bus to Innsbruck possible (please see rates).

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
