Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Tours

    Your journey begins in Tours, the historic capital of the Touraine region. Explore the impressive Gothic cathedral with its beautiful stained-glass windows and stroll through the picturesque Old Town. The Basilica of Saint Martin and the lively squares and cafés are perfect for a relaxed introduction to the Loire Valley.

  • Day 2 - From Tours to Chinon, approx. 60 km

    Your first cycling stage follows the Loire through the beautiful landscapes of the Touraine. Along the way, discover the magnificent gardens of Château de Villandry and the fairytale-like Château d'Ussé, said to have inspired the story of Sleeping Beauty. Quiet country roads and peaceful river landscapes lead you to Chinon, dominated by its impressive medieval fortress.

  • Day 3 - Round trip Fontevraud l´Abbaye, approx. 55-70 km

    Today's excursion takes you to the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, one of the most important historic sites in the Loire Valley. The magnificent abbey was closely connected to the Plantagenet royal dynasty and is the final resting place of Henry II, Richard the Lionheart and Eleanor of Aquitaine. On your return to Chinon, cycle through the picturesque wine-growing landscapes of Anjou.

  • Day 4 - From Chinon to Azay-le-Rideau, approx. 35 km

    Through extensive woodland and the romantic Indre Valley, today's route takes you to Azay-le-Rideau. Quiet roads, traditional stone houses and idyllic river scenery make this a particularly enjoyable stage. At the end of the day, discover Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, one of the finest Renaissance châteaux in France, beautifully surrounded by water and gardens.

  • Day 5 - From Azay-le-Rideau to Chenonceaux, approx. 60 km

    Leaving the Indre Valley behind, you cycle towards the Cher via Montbazon and Bléré through the varied landscapes of the Touraine. The highlight of the day is the elegant Château de Chenonceau, also known as the “Ladies' Castle” because of the influential women who shaped its history. Take your time exploring the magnificent interiors and beautifully designed gardens.

  • Day 6 - From Chenonceaux to Blois, approx. 75 km

    Today's longest stage initially follows the Cher to Montrichard before continuing across the countryside through peaceful villages and rural landscapes. Along the way, you pass Château de Cheverny, one of the Loire Valley's most elegant estates. Your destination is Blois, a former royal residence whose historic centre and impressive Château Royal reflect several centuries of French architectural history.

  • Day 7 - From Blois to Tours, approx. 70 km

    Your final cycling stage once again follows the Loire, with beautiful views of the majestic river along the way. Visit Amboise and its impressive royal château, where Leonardo da Vinci spent the final years of his life. His former residence, Château du Clos Lucé, can also be visited before you continue along the Loire back to Tours.

  • Day 8 - Individual departure or extra nights

    After breakfast, your cycling holiday through the Loire Valley comes to an end. Look back on an unforgettable journey filled with magnificent châteaux, historic towns, vineyards, beautiful river landscapes and the unmistakable charm of the French way of life. À bientôt!

The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).

Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.

Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.

Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to 42 days before departure
25% of the tour price from 41th to 22nd day before departure
40% of the tour price from 21st to 15th day before departure
60% of the tour price from 14th to first day before departure
90% of the tour price day of arrival or No-Show

If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 42 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
