Day 1 - Individual arrival in Strasbourg
Individual arrival in Strasbourg for your cycling holiday. The European town expects you quite romantically, with a wonderful, very medieval old town. Between the historical tanner's quarter and the modern European Parliament experience the history of one of the loveliest towns. Take your time to mount the tower of the minster in Strasbourg and enjoy the impressive view of Vosges and the Black Forest. Your cycle route in France starts in the typical French canal system with a splendid view of the Vosges. You cycle through picturesque villages and numerous locks of the historical canal system till you reach the romantic small town of Wasselonne. Along the small River Bruche the cycle path leads you to the Alsatian Wine Route. There you find the typical wine-growing villages and their historical, well-preserved town centers, which are often surrounded by the old town walls. The final destination of this bike route today in France is Obernai, the first “pearl” of the Wine Route. The bike route in Alsace today accompanies you today along the Wine Route. You can look forward during your cycle holidays in France to the beautiful view across the endless vineyards and of the numerous castles of the Vosges. You can expect Alsatian treasures such as the towns Andlau, Ribeauville and Riquewihr. Here, the time since the Middle Ages seems to have stood still. The lovely, well-preserved small towns are authentic and make you re-live this former time. In the dreamy Kaysersberg you can follow the traces of Albert Schweitzer. Today there are more “pearls” of the Alsatian Wine Route to discover during your cycle tour in France. The today's aim of your bike tour is Colmar, the metropolis of the Wine Route. In the contemplative old town center, you find many artworks of Martin Schongauer or the American Statue of Liberty by August Bartholdi. Before you start cycling, start your day with a sightseeing tour through the picturesque town of Colmar and its quarter “Little Venice” and the famous Unterlinden-Museum. The dreamy small wine towns are also worth visiting during today's cycling tour in France. Along the Route Romane you find many impressive Romansque buildings from the 11th /12th century. From Guebwiller, you cycle to Bollwiller to take the train directly or you continue to Ungersheim via the open-air museum Ecomusée d'Alsace. From there the cycle path leads you directly to Mulhouse and you take the train back to Colmar (train ride is not included). In the European capital of the technical museums your cycling tour ends in France in the wonderful Place de la Reunion with the church Temple Saint-Étienne and the colorful town hall. Finish the cycle tour in Alsace relaxed besides the River Rhine along the channel system to the Swiss metropolis, Basel. As a tour operator, the safety, well-being and health of our customers are top priorities for us. We are constantly monitoring the current situation and are in close contact with official authorities. In the event of travel changes, we will inform you immediately. If an official travel warning is issued on your arrival date for your destination or your home town, you can of course cancel your trip free of charge or change your booking to another date.
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 7 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 42th day before departure
25% of the tour price from 41st to 22nd day before departure
40% of the tour price from 21st to 15th day before departure
60% of the tour price from 14th to first day before departure
90% of the tour price from day of arrival and No-Show
In case the booking is changed from the customer himself (change of date, duration of the tour or participant) up to 28 days prior arrival, a handling fee of € 50,- per booking is charged.
Thereafter the previous cancellation conditions apply. Such a change of booking is only in individual cases a possibility customers do not have a claim on it.
