Hotel example: Landhotel Agathawirt, Bad GoisernDay 2 - Round trip to the Hallstatt lake, approx. 30 km
A relaxed start to your cycling holiday: follow the river Traun to reach Lake Hallstatt. A short crossing on the regular ferry service offers what is perhaps the most beautiful view of the world-famous village of Hallstatt – nestled between the lake and steep mountain walls. Tip: Treat yourself to a leisurely rest on the lake shore and let the scenery work its magic on you – especially early in the day, when an almost magical spell hangs over the water.Day 3 - Cycle tour to Strobl to the Wolfgangsee, approx. 60 km - or shorter
On today's bike tour in the Salzkammergut region, you will discover the imperial summer resort: via Bad Ischl, you will cycle through the gently rolling valley to the shores of Lake Wolfgang. In Strobl, the Schafberg mountain is reflected in the lake. If you wish, you can shorten the tour with a boat trip to St. Wolfgang. Tip: On the way back, treat yourself to a “Zauner Jause” at the traditional Café Zauner in Bad Ischl – a piece of Austrian confectionery art with a view of the Traun River.Day 4 - Cycle tour to Gmunden, approx. 40 km + train ride
The train takes you to Gmunden, a charming town on the fjord-like Lake Traunsee. Stroll along the lake promenade, visit the famous castle Schloss Ort or the ceramics museum. Cycle back along the shore via Ebensee to Bad Goisern. Tip:If you prefer a more leisurely pace, combine the cycle path with a boat trip across Lake Traunsee – fantastic panoramic views included.Day 5 - Hiking Day or day of rest
Today, leave your bike behind and enjoy a rest day on your cycling vacation—or lace up your hiking boots. Around the emerald green lake Gosausee, an easily accessible panoramic trail invites you to go hiking. The view of the snow-covered Dachstein is a constant companion—and an unforgettable photo opportunity. Tip: Stop off at the rustic inn right on the lake shore – fresh buttermilk or Kaiserschmarrn with a view of the glaciers are a must here.Day 6 - Salzburg experience (without bike)
Today, you will devote yourself to culture: the city of Mozart, Salzburg, is easily accessible by train. On a city tour, you will discover Getreidegasse, Cathedral Square, Mirabell Gardens, and Hohensalzburg Fortress. Tip: For an atmospheric finale, we recommend a visit to the legendary Café Tomaselli.Day 7 - Cycle tour to Grundlsee, approx. 35 km + train ride
First, take the train to Bad Aussee. From there, you can start your leisurely bike tour to Grundlsee, the “Styrian Sea.” Clear air, glittering water, and alpine flower meadows accompany you along the way. Tip: On the lake shore, a shady spot invites you to take a break—with a view of the Loserwand and a freshly caught trout on your plate.Day 8 - Individual journey home or additional nights
After a final breakfast with a view of the countryside, it's time to say goodbye to your cycling holiday. If you like, you can stay in the Salzkammergut region for a few more days and round off your trip with further excursions or relaxing in the hotel garden.
