Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Amsterdam

If you arrive early, you will have the opportunity to explore Amsterdam on foot or by public transport. Stroll through charming shopping streets, visit one of the outstanding museums, relax in lively squares or enjoy a meal in one of the numerous restaurants.
Example of hotel: Westcord Art Hotel in Amsterdam
  • Day 2 - Cycle tour Volendam or Haarlem, approx. 50–60 km

Choose one of four cycling routes. Particularly popular is the tour along the former Zuiderzee coast to the fishing villages of Marken and Volendam, with an optional detour to the charming cheese town of Edam. On the way back, quiet paths lead through the picturesque villages of Monnickendam and Broek in Waterland. If you prefer a shorter route, cycle directly to Monnickendam. Alternatively, you can take a trip to elegant Haarlem, where you can stroll through beautiful shopping streets, discover art and culture, or relax in cosy cafés. If you wish, you can add a visit to the Cruquius Steam Museum, the largest steam-powered pumping station in the world, to your tour.
  • Day 3 - Cycle tour Muiden, approx. 60 km

Another route takes you to the charming surroundings of Muiden Castle. Cycling along the River Amstel, you first head to Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, where it is worth making a detour to the historic Beth Haim Jewish cemetery. Then continue through Abcoude, whose landscapes inspired the young Piet Mondriaan, and past the idyllic town of Weesp. Your destination is Muiden with its small moated castle dating from 1280. History enthusiasts can also explore the nearby star-shaped fortified town of Naarden.
  • Day 4 - Cycle tour Zaandam, approx. 45 km

The last of our four routes takes you to Zaandam and back. Along the River Zaan, you will discover an early industrialised area where numerous sawmills once supplied Amsterdam's merchant fleet, a paradise for lovers of industrial history. On the way, you will pass old factories and warehouses before seeing the famous windmills in Zaanse Schans, which are still in operation today. Back in Amsterdam, a leisurely stroll through the romantic canal district is an inviting way to end the day on a pleasant note.
  • Day 5 - Individual departure or extra nights

Individual departure from the cycling holiday in Holland or booking of extra nights.

Hotel examples: Your accommodation will probably be in the hotel specified above however, in the event that the hotel is unavailable on the required date, an equivalent hotel will be booked.
