After breakfast, you cycle to Leuven, the oldest university and beer city of Belgium before you reach Mechelen. In the morning, you cycle to Antwerp, with the second largest harbor of Europe and a splendid city with numerous architectural highlights. The past also represented by the numerous paintings of Peter Paul Rubens, who lived in the early 17th Century, impressive city palaces and churches reflect the wealth of this trading town. Along River Rupel and River Schelde you reach Bornem. Example of hotel: Hotel de Notelaar in BornemDay 4 - From Bornem/Puursto Gent/Melle, approx. 60-65 km
Gent, the capital of East Flanders, is a real diamond of Belgium, and offers a great variety of sights, with a splendid combination of impressiveness and idyllic charm of the proud and (in former times) often rebellious city. The Saint Bavo, may be the most awesome cathedral in the country and is with its mighty uprising tower a visible sign of the pride of the citizen of Gent. The former medieval castle of the counts of Flanders, is one of today's biggest attraction. Example of hotel: Hotel Chamade in GentDay 5 - From Gent/Melle to Bruges, approx. 50-60 km
The historical center of Bruges is also on the list of UNESCO World Heritage and you will immediately notice that this city has always carefully cherished its architectural and artistic treasures from the past.
