Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Brussels

Brussels is not yet a metropolis like London or Paris but has this special multicultural charm with places, galleries and lanes, making it a great city. Grand-Place, Atomium and Manneken-Pis are well-worth visiting for every visitor. Example of hotel: NH Hotel Brussels Berlaymont in Brussels
  • Day 2 - Brussels–Mechelen, approx. 65 km

After breakfast, you cycle to Leuven, the oldest university and beer city of Belgium before you reach Mechelen. A walk through this beautiful town along the River Dijle leads you to the most important historic buildings from the Burgundian time. The St. Rumbold's Cathedral and the former palaces from Margarete of York and Margarete of Austria. Example of hotel: NH Hotel Mechelen in Mechelen
  • Day 3 - Mechelen–Bornem/Temse, approx. 30 km

In the morning, you cycle to Antwerp, with the second largest harbor of Europe and a splendid city with numerous architectural highlights. The past also represented by the numerous paintings of Peter Paul Rubens, who lived in the early 17th Century, impressive city palaces and churches reflect the wealth of this trading town. Along River Rupel and River Schelde you reach Bornem. Example of hotel: Hotel De Cluyse in Bornem
  • Day 4 - Bornem/Temse–Gent, approx. 64 km

Gent, the capital of East Flanders, is a real diamond of Belgium, and offers a great variety of sights, with a splendid combination of impressiveness and idyllic charm of the proud and (in former times) often rebellious city. The Saint Bavo, may be the most awesome cathedral in the country and is with its mighty uprising tower a visible sign of the pride of the citizen of Gent. The former medieval castle of the counts of Flanders, is one of today's biggest attraction. Example of hotel: Europahotel in Gent
  • Day 5 - Gent–Bruges, approx. 52 km

The historical center of Bruges is also on the list of UNESCO World Heritage and you will immediately notice that this city has always carefully cherished its architectural and artistic treasures from the past. Example of hotel: Hotel Velotel in Bruges
  • Day 6 - Bruges–De Haan–Bruges, approx. 55 km

Cycle along the small white village of Lissewege and continue to the picturesque coast of De Haan. Enjoy a swim in the North Sea or enjoy the sunshine on the beach, before your return back to Bruges. Example of hotel: Hotel Velotel in Bruges
  • Day 7 - Individual departure or extra nights

Return transfer by train Bruges to Brussels (direct connection and duration of journey approx. 50 minutes) or bus transfer to Bruges with a surcharge available (please see rates).

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
