Our cycling tour along the Baltic Sea cycle path takes you through varied coastal areas past medieval farmers’ cottages (Bauernkaten), forests and moors, windmills and dreamy fishing villages. In the beautiful old cities of Lübeck and Stralsund the glamour and power of the Hansa becomes apparent.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Lübeck
On your cycling tour along the North Sea, you will experience the vastness of the dikes, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Wadden Sea and picturesque fishing villages. At a leisurely pace, you will have plenty of time and opportunity to stop for a break in a café or take a detour to the beach. Your cycling holiday also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine freshly caught fish, crabs straight from the boat and the famous Frisian cake will make your cycling trip along the North Sea a delightful experience.

You leave Lübeck in the direction of Travemünde – either comfortably by train (not included) or by bike (+20 km). Take the ferry to Priwall before cycling through the wide landscape of the Klützer Winkel and reaching the traditional Baltic resort of Boltenhagen. The next day, the route continues across country to Wismar Bay. The old Hanseatic city of Wismar is one of the most beautiful places in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Stroll through the old town and admire the magnificent brick buildings and gabled houses – impressive testimonies to the mighty Hanseatic League.

Passing the island of Poel, your route takes you along the tranquil Salzhaff lagoon to Rerik. At the foot of the ‘Kühlung' (cooling pond), you continue cycling to Bastorf, where the lighthouse offers sweeping views over Kühlungsborn and the Baltic Sea – a highlight of this stage.

Several highlights await you today: in Heiligendamm, Germany's oldest seaside resort, you will be impressed by the elegant white spa architecture. A detour to Bad Doberan is worthwhile to see the cathedral and monastery complex. At the end of the stage, you will cycle through the mysterious ghost forest of Nienhagen – an old beech forest directly on the steep banks of the Baltic Sea.

Cruise ships from all over the world dock in Warnemünde. Take the ferry across the Warnow to Hohe Düne. From here, the route leads through the extensive forest area of the Rostock Heath to Fischland. Always close to the beach, you cycle over dykes along the Baltic Sea to your seaside resort and today's destination.
Example of hotel: Ostseehotel Dierhagen in DierhagenDay 6 - From Fischland to Darß/Zingst, ca. 30-65 km
Experience the dreamy and unspoilt beauty of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. This unique landscape is particularly well suited to exploring by bicycle. Part of the route takes you through the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park – with its tranquil lagoons, wide beaches, dunes and ancient forests, it offers a particularly charming nature experience.

From Barth, the ‘gateway to the Baltic Sea', your final stage takes you along the coast to Stralsund. This is where your cycle tour along the Baltic Sea ends – with an impressive finale. As you stroll through the old town, soak up the atmosphere of this ancient Hanseatic city. Magnificent gabled houses and imposing brick buildings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and will leave you with unforgettable memories to take home with you from your cycling holiday in Germany.

Hotel note: We make every effort to book the hotels mentioned by name. However, if one is not available, we will switch to an equivalent company.
Parking facilities
You can travel to Lübeck by train or car.
You can park your car at the hotel in Lübeck (approx. € 15.00 to € 22.00 per day) or in a public car park/underground car park for approx. € 10.00 to € 15.00 per day. There are also parking spaces available at the train station for approx. € 5.00 per day.
Payable on site. No reservations possible.
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28thday before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 21st day before departure
60% of the tour price from the 20th to the 7th day before departure
80% of the tour price from 6th to 1st day before departure
90% of the tour price from the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

Additionally, as required by law, the company OÖ Touristik GmbH has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.
