  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

    Your cycling tour in the Altmühl Valley begins in the romantic town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Take time to stroll through the winding streets, enjoy the medieval atmosphere and perhaps sample a Franconian speciality in one of the inns. This will give your cycling holiday in Germany an unforgettable start.

  • Day 2 - From Rothenburg o.d.T. to Ansbach, approx. 55 km

    In the morning, you will pick up your rental bikes (if booked). Your first bike tour in Bavaria takes you from the source of the Altmühl River along idyllic river valleys via Hornau, Colmberg and Lehrberg to Ansbach. Here, you should visit the magnificent Ansbach Residence with its castle museum (admission included). Discover Baroque architecture and enjoy the cultural ambience.

  • Day 3 - From Ansbach into the region Wettelsheim/Weißenburg, approx. 65 km

    Today, you will cycle past Lake Altmühl, a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers. Continue to Gunzenhausen, where you can take a break and enjoy some regional specialities. Immerse yourself in history at Karlsgraben, an impressive historical hydraulic engineering project by Charlemagne. Pass through Markt Berolzheim to reach Wettelsheim/Weißenburg.

  • Day 4 - From Wettelsheim/Weißenburg to Eichstätt, approx. 50 km

    The most scenic section of your cycling tour in the Altmühl Valley awaits you. You will cycle through the nature park with its striking Jurassic cliffs, wide valleys and flowering meadows. In Eichstätt, a charming bishopric and university town, the Baroque Residenzplatz square and Willibaldsburg Castle invite you to take a stroll.

  • Day 5 - From Eichstätt to Beilngries, approx. 45 km

    Today, your cycle tour in Germany takes you through the gently rolling valley of the Altmühl, which has widened here. On the way, you pass Walting, Arnsberg and the holiday resort of Kipfenberg, where it is worth stopping for a break at an inn serving regional cuisine. Your destination for the day, Beilngries, welcomes you with its historic charm and cosy hospitality.

  • Day 6 - From Beilngries to Kelheim/surroundings, approx. 50 km

    Cycle leisurely via Dietfurt to Riedenburg. There you can visit the Crystal Museum (included), which boasts the world's largest rock crystal collection. Continue your cycle tour along the Main-Danube Canal until the Altmühl flows into the Danube. Overnight stay in the Kelheim region, where beer gardens and Bavarian specialities round off the day deliciously.

  • Day 7 - From Kelheim to Regensburg, ca. 40 km

    Today offers a special experience: a boat trip through the Danube Gorge to the famous Weltenburg Monastery (optional, approx. &euro 16,00). Afterwards, you will cycle via Saal an der Donau and Bad Abbach to Regensburg. This UNESCO World Heritage city fascinates visitors with its 2,000 years of history, Romanesque buildings, narrow streets and famous cathedral. Parking facilities
Parking in an unguarded public car park at Rothenburg railway station (no reservations possible).

Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).

Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.


Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.

Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
20% of the tour price up to the 28th day before departure
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before departure
50% of the tour price from the 13th to the 8th day before departure
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before departure
90% of the tour price from the 3rd day before departure until the day of arrival

If the customer makes changes of the date of travel up to 28 days before departure, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,00 per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.
