With the Flying Dutchman, you visit the island of Mull and the Moryern Peninsula, which belong to the spectacular landscapes in Scotland. From Fort William, your cycling tour in Scotland leads along the Caledonian Canal, the connection between the North Sea and the Atlantic. The wild nature of Scotland with its intensive colours and the large biodiversity of fauna and flora impresses with lasting effect. Enjoy a glass of whiskey in one of the pubs and listen to the ever-present Scottish music. On your crossings with the Flying Dutchman, you watch out for dolphins and whales, and let the grandiose landscape glide-by. On your cycle tour, look out for eagles, red deer and otters and gaze down on the sea from the most beautiful lookout points.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Oban
Individual arrival by plane to Edinburgh or Glasgow for your bike and boat holiday in Scotland. You reach Oban by bus or train or you decide on an organized transfer at 5:30 pm from Edinburgh train station or at 6 pm from Edinburgh airport to the Flying Dutchman in Oban. The embarkation on board the Flying Dutchman is from 5 pm possible, should you arrive earlier your luggage can be stored on board until your check-in. During a late dinner, you get to know the crew and tour guides.Day 2 - Oban–Tobernochy, approx. 36 km
After your breakfast you cycle in southern direction from Oban through a hilly landscape and along a small highland lake again back to the sea. Over a remote peninsula, you reach on your bike tour in the Inner Hebrides a ferry to take you to the Island Luing. In Tobernochy the Flying Dutchman awaits you for your journey to a lonesome bay for your overnight stay.Day 3 - Crinan–Loch Caolisport, approx. 35 km
After a short crossing to Crinan you start your today's bike tour along the Crinan Channel, to Lochgilphead. Then we head south over the peninsula, most commonly known from the Paul McCartney song. Finally, after a vast cycle tour in Scotland you reach the Loch Caolisport, where you cross over to the Island of Jura.Day 4 - Island Jura, approx. 27 km
Quite early in the morning thins out the Flying Dutchman the anchors before you start your cycle tour to the Jura, where we recommend a visit of the local whisky distillery. Afterwards the bike route leads on the isle of Jura in direction north. George Orswell, spent the last three years of his life here and described it the island the most inaccessible place on earth. Enjoy the tranquility during your cycle holiday in Scotland and the cycle tour on the Hebrides Island leads past three mountains also called Paps of Jura, until you finally continue your journey on board the Flying Dutchman to the Mull Island, where you pass the Corryvreckan Whirlpool, which counts to one of the world biggest. No worry, the experienced ship crew of the Flying Dutchman will take you, safe & sound to the Mull Island.Day 5 - Island Mull: Loch Spelve–Salen–Tobermory, approx. 60 km
Today's cycle tour on the Mull Island stands completely in the sign of the impressive nature of Scotland. Cycle through hilly area and along the coast enjoying the breathtaking views. Along the cycle route with low traffic on the Hebrides, you see grazing sheep and shaggy Highland cattle. Enjoy the beautiful scenery past Loch Na'Keal to Salen. On board the Flying Dutchman, you reach the bay of Tobermory, where we recommend a visit at a Scottish Pub, and taste the national dishes fish & chips or the famous Haggis, in this picturesque village with its colored houses.Day 6 - Island Mull: Tobermory–Salen, approx. 50 km
Today we will encounter an elevation gain on our ride through the northern part of the Island of Mull. As a reward, a cosy tearoom offers us a welcomed reprieve. Continue along the white sandy beach of the Calgary bay with its crystal-clear water. You return through a lush valley until we meet the shoreline, shortly before Salen, where the Flying Dutchman awaits you.Day 7 - Peninsula Morvern: Lochaline–Kingairloch, approx. 26 km
With the bike & boat, you cross through the Sound of Mull to Lochaline-and a scenic cycling tour awaits you. After the first ascent, you reach an almost traffic-free road leading through the barren Highlands. You follow hillsides, wild mountain streams and moorlands before you reach the Flying Dutchman, to ferry you back to Oban. Before dinner, you have the opportunity to take a stroll through Oban. The Mc Caig's Tower, an incomplete replica of the Coliseum in Rome, is a worthwhile visit.Day 8 - Individual departure from Oban
After breakfast, disembarkation from the Flying Dutchman. Individual departure, from your bike & boat holiday in Scotland or a group transfer to the Edinburgh airport.
