The mountain bike tour “Dachsteinrunde” is the ideal introduction to the adventure of mountainbike holidays lasting several days with luggage transfer.

The mountain bike routes lead around the impressive Dachstein massif: from the Salzkammergut to the Ausseerland, over the Viehbergalm to the Ennstal valley, up to Ramsau and via the Gosautal valley back to Lake Hallstätter See. A unique experience on a mountain bike holiday in Austria in three stages.

Starting point: The start of the “Dachsteinrunde” is traditionally in St. Agatha (Bad Goisern in the Salzkammergut) or from any stage of the Mountainbike (MTB) routes: e.g. Gröbming or Annaberg.

Route description: 182 kilometres - 4,900 metres altitude difference

The mountain bike holiday in Austria leads through three federal states: Salzburg, Upper Austria and Styria. Long mountain bike tours on the over 180 kilometre long circuit await you daily. When mountain biking, scenic highlights are for granted in the Salzkammergut, such as the eternal wall in Bad Goisern, which also contains everything in terms of riding technique, but is not too difficult.Duration: The “Dachsteinrunde”, MTB tour is designed in such a way that the tour can be comfortably cycled in 3 days.Challenge: The “Dachsteinrunde” marked blue and red are conditionally demanding mountain bike tours with few technical difficulties. The “Dachsteinrunde” marked black is only recommended for those who are fit and technically good mountain bikers. The mountain bike routes are perfectly marked, but in between, there are some stretches where mountain biker have to carry or push their bike. Long daily stages require endurance and ambition during your mountain bike holiday in the Salzkammergut. This variant of the Dachsteinrunde offers additional loops with extra height metres.
