Just a little longer than a weekend ¬ but it feels like a lot of a cycle holiday in Germany! You cycle short and swift from the old Roman city of Trier along the Moselle cycle path with its wide and narrow bends until you reach the meander of the River Rhine. Everybody with some endurance and some good condition will enjoy this bike tour. The Moselle cycle path is flat throughout but there is a distance of 70 to 80 km on your daily program.

Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Trier

    Individual arrival for your cycle holiday in Germany. Plan some spare time to explore the beautiful historic town, the “Kaiserthermen” (Emperor's hot springs) and the Porta Nigra, best-conserved Roman gate. You receive your rented bike at your starting hotel for your cycle tour along the Moselle cycle path. Example of hotel: Hotel zur Post in Trier
  • Day 2 - Trier–Zeltingen, approx. 76 km

    Today's bike tour along the Moselle cycle path leads to the wine village of Trittenheim and continues to the old town of Bernkastel-Kues. Stroll across the beautiful main square, past the splendid framework houses. Marvel at the local fountains and enjoy some noble drops of wine at the wine museum. After a relaxing break, you continue to cycle directly by the riverside along the Moselle cycle path to Zeltingen. With the world famous vineyards of Zeltinger Himmelreich, Schlossberg, Sonnenuhr and Deutschherrenberg, the place belongs to one of the well-known wine-growing villages along the Mittelmosel.   • Day 3 - Zeltingen-Cochem–Treis Karden approx. 82 km

    Enjoy cycling through the winegrowing area of “Kröver Nacktarsch” to the charming Traben-Trabach. Follow the cycle path along the Moselle via Enkirch to the wine-growing area of “Zeller Schwarze Katz” before you reach Cochem. Leave the Moselle cycle path and visit the picturesque center as well as the old Reichsburg Castle – it is well worth a visit! Continue leisurely the last 12 km of your bike route in Germany to your hotel in Treis-Karden. Example of hotel: Weingut Otto Knaup in Treis Karden
  • Day 4 - Treis Karden–Koblenz, approx. 42 km, individual departure

    Today visit the magnificent Castle Eltz (+16 km) one of the most beautiful and best-preserved castles of Germany. Wonderfully romantic embedded in an original nature just like a true become fairy tale castle. Return to the Moselle cycle path and cycle the last kilometers through the beautiful Moselle Valley past the wine-growing villages Kobern-Gondorf and Winningen: In Koblenz at the Deutschen Eck (German Corner) the Moselle flows into the Rhine River – a miraculous end for your bike tour. In the afternoon, you return the rental bike and pick up your luggage at 4 pm. We wish you a pleasant journey home.
Detail Information

Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).

Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.

Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 7 days before arrival.

Cancellation Policy:
The general travel conditions of 1992 apply with following cancellation conditions: Prior to arrival the customer can cancel in written form at any time the booked arrangement. In case of cancellation or no show we charge following fees:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival or “no show”

In case the booking is changed from the customer himself (change of date, duration of the tour or participant) up to 28 days prior arrival, a handling fee of € 50,- per booking is charged.
Thereafter the previous cancellation conditions apply. Such a change of booking is only in individual cases a possibility customers do not have a claim on it.

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
