Day 1 - Individual arrival in Bamberg
After your arrival we recommend a city round tour. Bamberg built and loved by the Emperor Henry II buried in the cathedral, is one of Europe's largest intact old town centers and an UNESCO world heritage site with great churches and breweries. In the afternoon, you receive your rental bike if booked for your bike tour. Example of hotel: Welcome Kongresshotel in BambergDay 2 - From Bamberg to Schweinfurt, approx. 60 km
In the morning, follow for a short distance River Regnitz until you reach River Main, where a visit of the pilgrimage church of Maria Limbach is worth. You continue cycling towards the vineyards, which is the border between “Beer-Franconia” to “Wine-Franconi”. Enjoy visiting Haßfurt, a lovely village with a beautiful historical centre before cycling to Schweinfurt, a city that offers more, than just industry. Example of hotel: Panorama Hotel in SchweinfurtDay 3 - From Schweinfurt to Kitzingen, approx. 60 km
After breakfast, cycle via Fahr before you continue to Volkach, well known for its wine specialities, the best Franconian wine. After Volkach the cycling tour along the Mainkanal (chanal) starts, before you reach River Main in Schwarzach again. As the well-developed cycle path is flat you soon reach Kitzingen, and you have time to enjoy a relaxing stroll in the afternoon. Example of hotel: Hotel Bayerischer Hof in KitzingenDay 4 - From Kitzingen to Karlstadt, approx. 65 km
We recommend during your River Main bike tour, a visit of the town hall in Ochsenfurt, as well as an extended stop in Würzburg, to visit some of its great sights. The market square, the town hall, the old River Main Bridge, with its view onto the fortress and pilgrimage church Käppele and the Marien Chapel with its sandstone figures of Adam and Eve from Tilman Riemenschneider. Continue your cycle tour via Veitshöchheim with its summer residence and French rococo gardens to Karlstadt with its lovely town centre. Example of hotel: Hotel Mainpromenade in KarlstadtDay 5 - From Karlstadt to Wertheim, approx. 75 km
The bike tour in Germany today, changes its scenery from a typical winegrower region to an area with forests along the cycle path. Continue cycling along flat paths leisurely to the three-river-city of Gemünden before you reach the picturesque town of Rothenfels, where its fortress guards the narrow valley and continue to Marktheidenfeld and Wertheim. Be enchanted by the graceful half-timbered small houses of the old town. Example of hotel: Hotel Wertheimer Stuben in WertheimDay 6 - From Wertheim to Aschaffenburg, approx. 75 km
Today after breakfast, if you immediately step hard the pedals, you are at midday in Miltenberg, presenting itself full of pride with its beautiful half-timbered houses! In the afternoon, you reach Aschaffenburg with its beautiful Sandstone Castle Johannisburg. Example of hotel: Novum Hotel Post in AschaffenburgDay 7 - Individual departure or extra nights
