Day 1 - Individual arrival in StrasbourgArrival in Strasbourg for your cycle holiday along the Rhine cycle path and check-in at your hotel. Enjoy a stroll through the Alsatian capital, with the minster in the city centre, the tanner's quarter “Petite France” and Europe's Parliament. Example of hotel: BW Monopole Metropole in Strasbourg
Day 2 - Strasbourg–Rastatt, approx. 65 kmA well-built cycle path leads you through the town to the Rhine's riverbank. You cycle on today's stage through the gentle Rhine Valley. In Drusenheim you take a ferry across the River and continue cycling through the charming meadow landscape until you reach Rastatt with its baroque old town. Day 3 - Rastatt–Germersheim, approx. 60 kmEnjoy cycling on the idyllic cycle path the along old Rhine arms through what seems like untouched nature. You continue through the biggest nature protection area in the Palatinate, the Hördter Rheinauen until you reach to the former fortress city of Germersheim. Day 4 - Germersheim–Heidelberg, approx. 50 kmThe Rhine cycle path leads you to the imperial city of Speyer and its impressive cathedral, a UNESCO world heritage in Germany. Enjoy a stroll through the medieval city centre with the imperial palace and its magnificent gardens in Schwetzingen. Day 5 - Heidelberg–Worms, approx. 45 kmYou start your cycle tour in Germany today with a stroll through Heidelberg. Explore the charming castle and the baroque old town before you cycle along the River Neckar to the old Roman town of Ladenburg, where a beautiful medieval town centre awaits you. Then you continue your bike tour through the Rhine Valley to the imperial city of Worms with its cathedral built in the 12th century, the Martin Luther monument and the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe. Day 6 - Worms–Nierstein, approx. 55 kmYou cycle comfortable along the River Rhine accompanied by lots of agriculture. Party the cycle path leads along the old Rhine arms before on the other side of the river you see the first vineyards. Afterwards there are only a few more kilometres and you cross over the River Rhine again until you reach the charming village of Nierstein. You should definitely try a glass of Riesling. Day 7 - Nierstein–Mainz, approx. 20 kmYour last stage of your cycle holiday along the Rhine cycle path is shorter. After Nierstein the cycle path leads through the vineyards from where you have an impressive view agross the Rhine Valley. The cycle path leads directly along the Rhine riverbank to the centre of Mainz the final distance of your cycle tour. Day 8 - Individual departure or extra nightsReturn from your cycling holidays from Germany by bus possible (please see rates).
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 7 days before arrival.
The general travel conditions of 1992 apply with following cancellation conditions: Prior to arrival the customer can cancel in written form at any time the booked arrangement. In case of cancellation or no show we charge following fees:
20% of the tour price up to 28 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 27th to 14th day before arrival date
50% of the tour price from 13th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival or “no show”
In case the booking is changed from the customer himself (change of date, duration of the tour or participant) up to 28 days prior arrival, a handling fee of € 50,- per booking is charged.
Thereafter the previous cancellation conditions apply. Such a change of booking is only in individual cases a possibility customers do not have a claim on it.
