  • Day 2 - From Passau to Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings, approx. 40 km

Before you start your bike tour along the Upper Danube Valley towards Schlögen, you will be enchanted by the charm of the three-river-city of Passau. Admire the massive spectacle of the Danube flow in Upper Austria, where the river winds around the granite rock from the Mühlviertel Region. Your bike tour continues along the Danube cycle path always directly besides the river. Example of hotel: Revita Hotel Kocher in St. Agatha
  • Day 3 - From Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings to Linz, approx. 55 km

Leaving the forested hills behind you, cycle through the fruitful region of the „Eferdinger Becken“, to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. In the evening, visit the great tourist attractions of Linz: the new Music Theatre, the Art Museum Lentos, Linz Castle, the Pöstlingberg and much more... Example of hotel: Hotel Courtyard in Linz
  • Day 4 - From Linz to Grein/surroundings, approx. 60 km

There is a lot to see while cycling along this cycle route of the Danube cycle path: Enns, oldest city of Austria, untouched meadows and finally the picturesque baroque town of Grein. Example of hotel: Hotel Aumühle in Grein
  • Day 5 - From Grein/Bad Kreuzen to Melk, approx. 50 km

Enjoy your cycling holidays in Austria, while cycling through the impressive landscape of the Strudengau and Nibelungengau before reaching the well-known Wachau Valley. After today's successful bike tour along the Danube cycle path, take your time to get to know Austria's most popular winegrowing region. Some delicious wine is recommended in the Wachau Valley. Example of hotel: Hotel Wachau in Melk
  • Day 6 - From Melk to Krems/surroundings approx. 40 km

You start your cycling tour along the Danube cycle path through the Wachau valley, pass well-known villages such as Weißenkirchen and Dürnstein and Krems, which are also famous as wine-destinations. • Day 7 - From Krems/surroundings to Vienna, approx. 45 km + train ride

Your cycling route leads through the Tullner Feld, the garden town of Tulln before you go by train from Tulln to Vienna, Austria's capital, where a great variety of sights await you with magnificent buildings along the Ringstraße, Palace Schönbrunn, the Prater with its Giant Ferry Wheel and of course the traditional Viennese coffee houses. Example of hotel: Hotel ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser in Vienna

The National Park of the Danube meadows starts right at the access of Vienna, an idyllic landscape with a great variety of fauna and flora awaits you. Cycle past Castle Ort and Castle Eckartsau before you reach the spa resort Bad Deutsch Altenburg where already the Romans left their traces. Example of hotel: Hotel Altes Kloster in Altenburg/surroundings
  • Day 9 - From Bad Deutsch Altenburg/surroundings to Bratislava, approx. 30 km

The Schütt Island is a paradise for birds and fishes: admire untouched landscape with small islands, idyllic farm villages and a labyrinth with side arms of the Danube. We suggest shortening the route (about 44 km) between Mosonmagyarovar and Györ by train. Tickets are available at the ticket-machines in the train station and cost about 1&euro per trip. At the confluence of 3 Rivers you reach Györ with its beautiful old baroque town. Example of hotel: Hotel Famulus in Györ
  • Day 11 - From Györ to Komarno/surroundings, approx. 60 km

The National stud Bábolna is world famous for Arabian horses breeding. Through rolling hills of the agrarian area, return to the Danube to the parted town of Komárno, King Matthew's favourite city. Example of hotel: Hotel Peklo in Komarno

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
