Route suggestions: The suggested cycle tours in the Zell am See/Kaprun region are freely selectable and combinable and represent one of many possible tour options. You could plan your centre cycle tour as you prefer.
  • Day 2 - Krimml–Schüttdorf/Zell am See, approx. 60 km + train ride Schüttdorf/Zell am See–Krimml

You start your first day of biking in Austria with a train ride (approx. 1,5 hours) with the traditional Pinzgauer local train to Krimml. Before starting your bike tour, you visit the thounderous Klimmler waterfalls. After that you start your first stage of your cycle tour on Tauern cycle path.

    OR
Schüttdorf/Zell am See–Saalfelden–Maria Alm–Schüttdorf/Zell am See, approx. 45 km Your bike tour starts at Zeller lake and firstly leads you to Maishofen. We recommend a stop at Kammer castle. After that you cycle passing Maria Alm back to the Zell am See/Kaprun region.
  • Day 3 - Schüttdorf/Zell am See–St. Johann im Pongau, approx. 45 km + train ride St. Johann–Schüttdorf/Zell am See

While cycling on Tauern cycle path you will ride along hilly terrain with lush meadows and rustic farms. After a slight ascent you reach your first stage, Taxenbach. Tip: Definitely explore Kitzlochklamm. Along Salzach river you cycle to St. Johann im Pongau. You return by train to Schüttdorf/Zell am See.

    OR
Zeller lake roundtrip + Kaprun, approx. 40 km + ascent Kitzsteinhorn This cycle tour at Salzburger Land takes you around Zeller lake. Many leisure activities will make your day special: miniature golf, bathing, Prielau castle. If you forget about time because of the various offers, you could also cross the lake by boat. If you have enough time after returning to the hotel, a ride with the glacier cableway up to the 3.000 m high Kitzsteinhorn a great idea.
  • Day 4 - Schüttdorf/Zell am See–Saalfelden–Maria Alm–Schüttdorf/Zell am See, approx. 45 km

This alternative bike tour leads bikers via Glemmtal cycle path to Saalbach Hinterglemm and back. Optionally you could take a train ride with the excursion train from Lengau (close to Hinterglemm) up to Liedlingalm (locally payable). The small leisure paradise with Kneipp treatment, high rope garden and adventure playground is popular among young and old people.

    OR
Day of rest/hike to the panoramic mountain Schmittenhöhe – Höhenpromenade If you leave your bike at the hotel at your cycling holidays and put on your hiking shoes it is not necessarily a day of rest. But at least a welcome change. We recommend the ascent with Sonnkogelbahn and a hike along Höhenpromenade to Schmittenhöhe. Your will be enthusiastic about the magnificent view.
  • Day 5 - Schüttdorf/Zell am See–Fuschertal–Schüttdorf/Zell am See, approx. 30 km

You will see many three-thousanders on this cycle tour in Austria: while cycling through Fuscher valley Brennkogel, Hoher Tenn or Schwarzkopf will greet you. At the foot of the Großglockner high alpine road the Museum „Mühlauer saw“ tells the history of this famous alpine panoramic road. OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
