Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual journey to Venice

The cabins are available from 5 pm for your bike and boat trip. The meeting with the tour guide and crew is scheduled for 6:30 pm before dinner.
  • Day 2 - Rest day in Venice

The tour guide will show you the most beautiful places off the beaten track during a walk. Afterwards, you will have plenty of time to explore Venice and the islands of the lagoon on your own.
  • Day 3 - From Venice to the island of Pellestrina, cycle tour approx. 25 km

The first day of cycling begins with a visit to a historic glass-blowing workshop on the island of Murano. This is the most magical day of the whole cycle tour, as you cycle through the two long islands that separate the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. From the Lido, one of the most impressive beach resorts on the Adriatic and home to the International Film Festival of Venice, you cycle south to Malamocco. The small town was the first seat of the Doges of the Republic of Venice. A short trip on the Ave Maria boat takes you to the island of Pellestrina with its famous Ca' Roman nature reserve at the end of the cycle route. The boat picks you up in Ca' Roman and takes you to the lively fishing harbour of Chioggia.
  • Day 4 - From the island of Pellestrina via the Po Delta nature reserve to Adria, cycle tour approx. 40 km

Today you leave Pellestrina and cycle towards Chioggia, the so-called ‘little Venice'. Along the Po-Brondolo, the route takes you across the mouth of the Adige into the town of Adria.
  • Day 5 - From Adria via Ferrara to Zelo, cycle tour approx. 35 km

After a short boat trip on the Vita Pugna, you cycle towards Ferrara. The city has truly earned the name ‘city of cyclists' thanks to its numerous cycle paths and the widespread use of two-wheelers. Stroll through the beautiful, historic centre with its mighty ring of walls. In the afternoon, the coach will take you to Zelo. The Vita Pugna is already waiting for you there.
  • Day 6 - From Zelo to Mantua, cycle tour approx. 50 km

You start today's cycling day with a few kilometres of cycling to Bergantino. There you will visit the museum of the carousel and the folk theatre. Afterwards, a cheese tasting awaits you in a cheese dairy. Cycle along the Po to Ostiglia, a small town with medieval castle ruins, and on to Governolo, the largest river basin in Italy. In the late afternoon you reach your destination, Mantua, on the Vita Pugna.
  • Day 7 - Round trip Mantua, cycle tour approx. 35 km

The last day of cycling is dedicated to discovering the city of Mantua and its three picturesque ‘lakes'. In the late afternoon, you will be accompanied through the city by a guide. From Piazza Sordello with its magnificent cathedral and Palazzo Ducale, you will cycle through the historic centre to Piazza delle Erbe. Admire the bell tower, Rotonda di S. Lorenzo and the Cathedral of St Andrew.
  • Day 8 - Individual journey home from Mantua

    Disembarkation takes place after breakfast.

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
