Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Amsterdam, boat ride to Wijk bij Duurstede

Embarkation and check-in take place in Amsterdam. The friendly crew will welcome you on board between 1 and 2 pm. At around 2 pm, the ship will set sail from Amsterdam via the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to Wijk bij Duurstede, a charming town on the Rhine, where you will spend your first night.
  • Day 2 - Boat ride to Wageningen, bike tour from Wageningen to Arnheim and Doesburg, approx. 50 km

The first cycle tour in Holland takes you through the lovely Lower Rhine Valley and on through the Veluwe, a large forest and heathland area. In the late afternoon you cycle through the suburbs, past the beautiful Sonsbeek and Zijpendaal parks to Arnhem, which gained sad fame during the Second World War. You cycle further along the river until you reach the small town of Doesburg. The De Nassau is docked overnight near the city center of this Hanseatic city.
  • Day 3 - Bike tour from Doesburg to Deventer, approx. 45 or 55 km

There are two options for the cycle tour to Zutphen and Deventer. You start on the cycle route to Bronkhorst, the smallest town in the Netherlands. From here, the shorter cycle tour takes you by ferry to the west bank of the Ijssel, while the longer option stays on the east bank. Both cycle tours in the Netherlands end in Deventer, where the De Nassau is already waiting for you. In the evening, the tour guide offers a short, guided city tour.
  • Day 4 - Boat ride to Wijhe, Bike trip from Wijhe to Kampen, approx. 40 or 55 km

During breakfast, the De Nassau will take you to Wijhe. There you start the day with a cycle tour to Hattem, either along the riverbank (short tour) or across the eastern Veluwe area (long tour). The town of Hattem looks back on a rich past, traces of which can still be seen everywhere today. From Hattem, it is only a short distance to Zwolle. This city is considered one of the most beautiful Hanseatic cities in Europe. The cycle tour in Holland ends in Kampen, where you will be welcomed by the crew on board De Nassau. In the evening, you can discover the sights of this largest Hanseatic city in the Netherlands on your own.
  • Day 5 - Bike tour from Kampen via Elburg to Harderwijk, approx. 50 or 55 km

On day 5 of your cycle and boat vacation in Holland, you cycle along the “Randseen” to the fishing port of Elburg and on through the forests and moors of the Veluwe to beautiful Harderwijk, where the De Nassau has already docked in the harbour. The rich history of this beautiful old town is best explored on a walk.
  • Day 6 - Bike tour from Harderwijk via Spakenburg to Huizen, approx. 45 or 55 km

Experienced cyclists choose the longer riverside and forest route on this day of the cycle tour in Holland. All others cycle via the Randmeren to the fishing village of Spakenburg. Today's berth for the De Nassau is in Huizen.
  • Day 7 - Bike tour from Huizen to Amsterdam, approx. 35 km

Huizen is the starting point for cycling in the Netherlands to the beautiful fortified towns of Naarden and Muiden. The latter is famous for its historic castle on the water. From Muiden you cycle on quiet roads to the world-famous metropolis of Amsterdam. In the afternoon and evening, you will have plenty of time to explore this vibrant city on your bike and boat vacation. Tip: canal tour, Anne Frank House or one of the other world-famous museums around the Museumplein. Or simply enjoy the hustle and bustle of this multicultural city. A last night on board the De Nassau awaits you.
  • Day 8 - Individual departure from Amsterdam

After breakfast, disembarkation from the De Nassau by 9.30 am. Individual journey home from the bike and boat vacation in Holland.

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
