Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual arrival in Amsterdam

Arrival for your bike and boat trip to Amsterdam. Embarkation on the De Amsterdam takes place between 14:00 and 16:30. There is plenty of time to explore the old town, go shopping, visit a museum or take a canal cruise.
  • Day 2 - Boat ride from Amsterdam to Breukelen, bike trip from Breukelen to Utrecht, approx. 20 or 40 km, boat ride from Utrecht to Rotterdam

The De Amsterdam takes you to Breukelen. Start your first day of cycling on your bike and boat vacation in Holland along the beautiful little river Vecht. Beautiful villas, country houses and small castles line the route on your cycle tour in Holland. You follow the Vecht to the center of the cathedral city of Utrecht. A visit to the city center of Utrecht is a worthwhile destination on your cycle tour in Holland. Visit the cathedral, the canals and the street cafés or do some shopping in one of the many stores. In the afternoon, the De Amsterdam sets sail from Utrecht for the port city of Rotterdam.
  • Day 3 - From Rotterdam to Schiedam and Delft to Rotterdam, approx. 50 km

Today's cycle tour on your bike and boat vacation in Holland takes you via the “jenever town” of Schiedam and through the Delfland to Delft. Here it is worth taking a tour of the beautiful old town with its small canals and picturesque streets, bridges and alleyways. The porcelain factory (“Delft Blue Porcelain”) is also a popular stop on the bike and boat trip in South Holland. During dinner, the De Amsterdam sails to Rotterdam. In the evening there is enough time for a short city tour.
  • Day 4 - From Rotterdam to Alblasserdam with the „Waterbus“, bike tour from Kinderdijk via Gouda to Schoonhoven, approx. 30 or 60 km

Today you can either cycle or take the “water bus” to Alblasserdam in around 40 minutes. From here, continue by bike to Kinderdijk, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (19 windmills in a row). There are 2 tour suggestions to choose from on today's cycle and boat vacation in Holland: a longer cycle tour in Holland with a visit to the famous cheese town of Gouda or a shorter cycle tour through the Alblasserwaard polder. Both cycle tours end in the “silver town” of Schoonhoven, where a visit to the silversmiths is definitely worthwhile.
  • Day 5 - From Schoonhoven via Oudewater to Utrecht, approx. 35-45 km, boat ride from Utrecht to Haarlem

The 4th cycle tour on your bike and boat vacation in South Holland takes you from Schoonhoven through the wonderful “green heart of Holland” along small villages and along quiet paths and country roads to Utrecht. Near Oudewater, a traditional cheese farmer invites you to visit. Later in the afternoon, you will travel from Utrecht to Haarlem on board the De Amsterdam.
  • Day 6 - From Haarlem via the North Sea coast back to Haarlem, approx. 40-50 km, boat ride from Haarlem to Zaandam

Today you again have the choice between two cycle tours. Whichever route you choose, both will take you through the enchanting Kennemer Dunes, a nature reserve with many birds, Scottish Highland cattle and Shetland ponies. The longer version of the cycle tour takes you past the world's largest steam engine at Cruquius. In the evening, you take the boat to Zaandam.
  • Day 7 - From Zaandam to Amsterdam, approx. 30 or 50 km

The last stage of your cycle tour in Holland is coming up. From Zaandam, get on the saddle in the direction of the Zaanse Schans museum village, which represents an old Dutch village. Windmills, clog making and a cheese farm can be visited. You return to Amsterdam through the Twiske area. The afternoon and evening are dedicated to a tour of the city. Take the opportunity to take a canal cruise through the canals of the Dutch capital.
  • Day 8 - Individual departure from Amsterdam

After breakfast, disembarkation from the De Amsterdam takes place by 09:30 am. Individual journey home from the bike and boat vacation in South Holland.

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
