Itinerary
  • Day 1 - Individual Arrival in Passau, Boat Trip from Passau to Engelhartszell

A stroll through Passau makes the time until embarkation on the MS Vivienne at 4:00 pm fly by. Particularly worth seeing is the city center in the charming old town at the confluence of the Inn, Ilz, and Danube rivers. The Passau Cathedral houses the world's largest church organ. Afterwards, the MS Vivienne sets sail. Your bike and boat journey along the Danube Cycle Path from Passau to Vienna and Budapest can begin.
  • Day 2 - Danube Bend / Bike Tour from Engelhartszell to Aschach, approx. 45 km

This day is a true cycling delight on the Danube Cycle Path! You cycle from Engelhartszell (Austria's only Trappist monastery) through the breathtaking Danube Bend, one of the most beautiful river sections along the Danube Cycle Path. Cozy cider taverns invite you to linger and enjoy various delicacies on your bike and ship holiday in Austria. In the charming town of Aschach, you will board the MS Vivienne again.
  • Day 3 - Bike Tour from Devin to Bratislava, approx. 45 km

The Danube Cycle Path leads from the Devin fortress to the impressive Schloss Hof with one of Europe's most magnificent baroque gardens. Your cycling journey in Austria passes through a small stretch of untouched nature — and soon after, you'll find yourself in the vibrant metropolis of Bratislava. We recommend a city tour (optional) with a visit to the castle hill, where you can enjoy a unique panoramic view over the coronation city, concluding with a guided walk through the historic city center.
  • Day 4 - Budapest, Bike Tour to Szentendre, approx. 50 km (or Rest Day)

The breathtaking arrival on the MS Vivienne into Budapest offers a stunning view of the city's most famous landmarks. Take the opportunity for a city tour by bike or bus (optional) and explore the capital of Hungary or visit the charming artist town of Szentendre. In the evening, we recommend a visit to the Jewish Quarter.
  • Day 5 - Bike Tour from the Danube Bend to Esztergom, approx. 50 km

Steep mountain slopes frame the picturesque, gently rolling landscape of the 'Hungarian Wachau.' Your bike and boat journey in Hungary takes you to the idyllic island of Szentendre. History, folklore, and Hungarian joy in life accompany you during your bike tour along the Danube Cycle Path to Esztergom, where the magnificent basilica (Hungary's largest church) towers high above the castle district.
  • Day 6 - Vienna, Rest Day

Experience Vienna's most famous sights up close by bike or bus during a city tour (optional). The grand boulevard Ringstraße recalls the city's glorious past. Traditional coffee houses entice visitors and locals alike with Viennese pastries. End the evening with a classical waltz and operetta concert at the splendid Schönbrunn Palace (optional). During the night, the MS Vivienne will sail into the Wachau region.
  • Day 7 - Bike Tour from Krems to Melk/Pöchlarn, approx. 45 km

Your final bike tour in Austria is the royal stage of the Danube Cycle Path! The gentle hilly landscape of the Wachau enchants with dreamy villages, historic castles, and palaces surrounded by apricot trees and vineyards. Cozy wine taverns, known as Heurige, invite you to relax in Weißenkirchen directly beside the Danube Cycle Path (wine tasting optional). After the festive gala dinner on board the MS Vivienne, enjoy a fun-filled evening of entertainment.
  • Day 8 - Individual Departure from Passau

Once again, enjoy the first morning sun rays and the peaceful calm along the Danube Cycle Path on deck. A final look at the Schlögener Schlinge before you arrive in Passau, filled with memories and experiences. Disembarkation is at approximately 11:00 am. We recommend booking onward travel connections no earlier than 12:00 pm.

The same applies to officially ordered lock and/or bridge repairs that have not been announced in advance.

The registration form can be found in the travel documents or online, and payment is made on-site.

Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.

Terms and Conditions of Payment:

Additional travel conditions for the bike and boat tour:
We reserve the right to adjust the prices that were published and confirmed with the booking in the event of an increase in transportation costs or fees for specific services, such as port and docking fees, or a change in the exchange rates applicable to the trip as follows:
• If transportation costs increase after the conclusion of the travel contract, particularly fuel costs, we may raise the travel price according to the following calculation: a. In the case of an increase related to the cabin price, we may charge the traveler the additional amount. b. In other cases, the additional transportation costs required by the carrier per transport vehicle will be divided by the number of cabin spaces of the agreed transportation vehicle. The resulting additional amount for the cabin space can be charged to the traveler.
• If the fees at the time of the travel contract, such as port and docking fees, are increased, we may raise the travel price by the corresponding proportional amount.
• If exchange rates change after the conclusion of the travel contract, the travel price can be increased to the extent that the trip has become more expensive due to this change.
A price increase is only permissible if more than 4 months lie between the contract conclusion and the agreed travel date, and the circumstances leading to the increase were unforeseeable before the conclusion of the contract. If the travel price is adjusted, we will inform you immediately. Price increases within 20 days before the start of the trip are invalid. If the price increases by more than 5%, you are entitled to cancel the contract without any fees or request participation in a trip of at least equal value, provided we can offer such a trip from our travel offer without any additional cost to you. Please assert the aforementioned rights promptly after we inform you of the price increase.

In the event of extreme high or low water levels, the shipping company reserves the right to replace certain sections with bus transport or to cancel the trip at short notice, without this leading to any legal claims (water levels are considered force majeure). The same applies in the case of unannounced lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by authorities, or in the case of unintentional engine or propulsion failure of the ship.

Cancellation Policy:
According to our general terms and conditions, the customer can cancel the contract in writing at any time. In the event of cancellation or non-participation in the trip, the following cancellation fees apply:
20% of the tour price up to 84 days before arrival date

60% of the tour price from 41st to 28th day before arrival date

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
