Make the most of the time until embarkation at 4 pm on board the MS Lisabelle with a stroll through the enchanting old town of Passau. The world's largest church organ in Passau Cathedral welcomes you to your bike and boat trip along the Danube cycle path. A glass of wheat beer in one of the typical Bavarian beer gardens marks the start of your cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path. Between 4 pm and 5 pm, the MS Lisabelle sets sail for the upper Danube valley.
  • Day 2 - From the Danube loop/from Engelhartszell to Brandstatt, approx. 45 km

You start your cycling vacation in Austria in Engelhartszell. Here we recommend a visit to Austria's only Trappist monastery, which offers delicious liqueurs from its own production. The cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path takes you through the wild and romantic Danube Loop, one of the most beautiful sections of the river. Along the way, cozy cider taverns with all kinds of delicacies tempt you to stop for a bite to eat during your cycle tour in Austria.
  • Day 3 - From Devin to Bratislava, approx. 15–45 km

A narrow cycle path winds its way from the Devin fortress to the imposing Hof Castle with one of the most magnificent baroque gardens in Europe. Just a short cycle tour in Slovakia and you have already arrived in the vibrant metropolis of Bratislava. A vintage train city tour followed by a walk through the old town is offered as an optional program on the MS Lisabelle.
  • Day 4 - Budapest, excursion to Szentendre approx. 50 km (or rest day)

Budapest enchants during the cycle tour in Hungary with the city's famous buildings. On board the MS Lisabelle are tickets for a city tour in Budapest and an excursion to the enchanting artists' town of Szentendre offered as a bookable additional program. Let yourself be inspired by the fiery temperament of the Hungarian folklore show in Szentendre during your cycling vacation on the Danube cycle path: traditional music and dances accompanied by Tokaj and hearty paprika dishes (bookable).
  • Day 5 - From Baja to Mohacs, approx. 40 km

When cycling in Hungary, you leave Baja, the capital of fish soup, and cycle through alluvial forests along the dam on the Danube cycle path through idyllic river landscapes. At the end of the cycle tour, you take the ferry to the small town of Mohacs, which marks Hungary's southernmost Danube gate. The MS Lisabelle awaits you on your bike and boat vacation on the Danube cycle path.
  • Day 6 - Belgrade (rest day)

Explore the lively Serbian metropolis at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers by bike or bus. The coach tour (at an extra charge) is a journey through time from the past to the present of the former Yugoslavia. In the evening, a visit to a colurful folklore show with traditional dances from all parts of the country is also offered for an extra charge. The additional program concludes with spirited folk music and typical local specialities in the famous artists' quarter “Skadarlija”.
  • Day 7 - Cataract route/Iron Gate National Park (rest day)

The MS Lisabelle will take you on a leisurely cruise through the stunning fjord landscape of the “Iron Gate” in the middle of the Danube: the river cuts through the Carpathian Mountains in Romania and the mighty foothills of the Balkan Mountains. From the deck, you can enjoy this magnificent natural spectacle up close: steep gorges, dark forests and defiant castles reflected in the Danube.
  • Day 8 - From Novi Sad to Ilok, approx. 50 km

A last view of the impressive Petrovaradin fortress, which towers high above the provincial capital of Vojvodina, bids you farewell from Novi Sad. On the Danube cycle path in Serbia, you cycle upstream to the medieval town of Ilok and reach the hilly landscape at the foothills of Fruska Gora by ferry, characterized by orchards, vineyards and dreamy farming villages.
  • Day 9 - From Batina to Mohacs, approx. 50 km

Idyllic riverside paths and country roads through the endless expanse of the Batschka (the territory of the Danube Swabians) characterize your cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path in Serbia. You cycle along the embankment cycle path through the untouched nature of the Duna-Dráva (Danube-Drava) National Park. The ferry then takes you back to Mohacs. In the evening, the MS Lisabelle welcomes you to your bike and boat vacation in Europe.
  • Day 10 - From Kalocsa to Solt, approx. 50 km

From now on you travel back home on your cycling vacation in Hungary. The MS Lisabelle makes a stop in Kalocsa, the home of paprika. Learn all about Hungary's favourite spice at the Paprika Museum. You cycle on the well-developed embankment cycle path along the endless expanses of the Puszta to Solt, the birthplace of the famous conductor Sir George Solti. Make a stop at Vecsey Castle while cycling along the Danube Cycle Path. The library with around 34,000 books never ceases to amaze visitors.
  • Day 11 - From the Danube Bend to Esztergom, approx. 50 km

Steep mountain slopes line the picturesque, gently undulating landscape of the “Hungarian Wachau”. In the middle of the Danube, the small island of Szentendrei-sziget exudes genuine Puszta romance. The cycle tour takes you along idyllic cycle paths, through picturesque farming villages, where you can experience Hungarian joy of life at first hand. The dome of the impressive Basilica of Esztergom, which towers high above the Danube, can be seen from afar. The largest church in Hungary impresses with its Tuscan-style high altar and red marble walls during your cycling vacation on the Danube Cycle Path.
  • Day 12 - Vienna, cycle excursion to Klosterneuburg, Danube Island

Today you can relax on board the MS Lisabelle on your bike & boat vacation in Austria. From the sun deck, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Donauauen National Park. As you enter Vienna, the city skyline never fails to impress. Your cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path takes you across the Danube Island to the nearby Klosterneuburg Abbey. Or you can take a hike through the idyllic vineyards up the Kahlenberg, which offers a wonderful view of the Danube metropolis. How about a classical waltz and operetta concert on your bike and boat vacation in Austria? Tickets for this feast for the ears in a time-honored Viennese palace can be purchased on board the MS Lisabelle.
  • Day 13 - Vienna (rest day)

What would Vienna be without an extensive city tour? With the HOP ON HOP OFF bus (tickets are available on the bus) you get to see all the sights of the Austrian capital. The magnificent Ringstraße is reminiscent of glorious times, time-honored coffee houses tempt you with Melange and sweet Viennese pastries. On this cycle tour along the Danube, there is plenty of time to stroll through the dreamy Viennese alleyways or the Naschmarkt. An evening tip for your cycle tour in Austria: visit a wine tavern and enjoy Austrian specialties accompanied by a glass of Grüner Veltliner.
  • Day 14 - From Wachau/Krems to Melk, approx. 40 km

On the last day of the cycle tour in Austria, the saying comes true: the best comes last! The gentle hilly landscape of the Wachau enchants with dreamy villages, historic castles and palaces. The Danube cycle path in Lower Austria is lined with apricot trees and wine terraces. In Weißenkirchen, cozy wine taverns right next to the cycle path beckon.
  • Day 15 - Individual departure from Passau

At a steady pace, the MS Lisabelle approaches the city of Passau and thus the end of the bike & boat trip on the Danube Cycle Path. On your way to the three-river city of Passau, you will pass the Schlögener Schlinge, the impressive river meander in Upper Austria, one last time. Disembarkation from approx. 11 a.m. followed by an individual journey home. We recommend reserving connections for the journey home from your bike and boat vacation from 12 noon at the earliest.

OÖ Touristik GmbH

In 1990 the OÖ Touristik performed a pioneering work on the sector of organised cycle holidays: the first bookable cycle tour along the Danube including luggage transfer. Already a year later we offered the first group tours. Over the years the offers of the cycle holidays has expanded throughout Europe and are as popular as ever. During the last 30 years we have expanded the portfolio on mountain bike tours, cycle holidays by bike and boat, group tours and hiking holidays as well as winter and wellness holidays. The organisation and handling of international congresses and events meanwhile adds to the successful enterprise sections.
