Along the Danube cycle path from Passau via Vienna to Budapest - enjoy a special cycling holiday in Austria and Hungary. The “Carissima”, accompanies you during your bike tour from Passau–Vienna–Budapest! Countless highlights await you: the Three River City of Passau, the Schlögener Schlinge, Linz, the beautiful winegrowing region of the Wachau Valley with the Benedictine Abbey of Melk, the emperor city of Vienna, the Esztergom Basilica and finally the coronation town of Budapest. During the day, cycle along the Danube cycle path and in the afternoon continue to the next harbor aboard the MS Carissima. You are welcome to enjoy a day at leisure aboard the MS Carissima. Either enjoy the evening aboard the MS Carissima with live music or you explore the town.

Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau, Passau–Engelhartszell by boatAfter your individual arrival in Passau for your cycle holiday, enjoy a stroll through the beautiful old town and visit the cathedral with the world's largest organ, before embarkation aboard the MS Carissima at 4.30 pm. At approx. 6.00 pm, you leave Passau in direction Engelhartszell and your cycle tour from Passau to Vienna and Budapest starts.
Day 2 - Donauschlinge/Engelhartszell–Aschach, approx. 42 kmIn Engelhartszell (with its beautiful monastery), your cycling tour starts with the romantic river landscape of the Donauschlinge, one of the most beautiful river stretches along the Danube with picturesque small villages. If you enjoy cycling you can cycle a round tour of the Schlögener Schlinge” (approx. 15 km) before you reach the picturesque village Aschach, where you go aboard the MS Carissima and continue your journey.
Day 3 - Devin-Bratislava, approx. 43 kmThe Danube cycle path leads to the Devin's fortress complex and the impressive Castle Hof with one of Europe's beautiful baroque gardens. Continue along the Danube cycle path through mystic alluvial forests before reaching the lively city of Bratislava by bike. A city tour (optional) leads you up to the castle hill offering a magnificent view across the city of coronation before the bike tour ends with a stroll through the beautifully restored old town with its lovely lanes and sights.
Day 4 - Budapest, bike tour Szentendre, approx. 54 km (or day at leisure)The entrance to Budapest is stunning with its view onto famous sights and impressive buildings aboard the MS Carissima. During a sightseeing tour by bike or bus (optional) explore Hungary's capital or visit the beautiful art town Szentendre, enjoying a folklore show with traditional music (optional).
Day 5 - Donauknie–Esztergom, approx. 43 kmToday cycling through the beautiful landscape of the ‘Donauknie' is an excursion through Hungarian's history. Leave the former imperial residence of Visegrád and cycle through picturesque, gently hilly landscape of the so-called Hungarian Wachau. You continue via the baroque village of Vác before you reach Esztergom with its impressive Basilica and Hungarian's largest church.
Day 6 - Vienna - day at leisureEnjoy the lively city of Vienna during a cycle or bus tour (optional). Visit some of the most famous sights: the Prater, the Stephan's Cathedral, the Hofburg Palace and the Grand Ringstraße Boulevard with the Burgtheater, State Opera House and Town Hall. In the evening, enjoy a waltz or operetta concert in the Vienna Hofburg (optional) or visit a typical Viennese Heurigen, before you return with the MS Carissima to the Wachau Valley.
Day 7 - Wachau Valley/Krems-Melk, approx. 37 kmThe last cycle day in Austria is the king's stage along the Danube cycle path! The gently hilly landscape with its charming villages, vineyards, fortresses, monasteries and ruins enchant everybody. Over the small town of Dürnstein an impressive ruin towers and the blue tower of the collegiate church is the landmark of the Wachau Valley. In Weißenkirchen there are many Heurigen taverns directly along your cycle route (possibility for wine tasting – optional). After a ceremonial Dinner, enjoy afterwards a show program aboard the MS Carissima.
Day 8 - Individual departure from PassauEvery cycle tour comes to its end so enjoy once more the journey past the beautiful landscape of the Upper Danube and the peaceful morning hours before reaching Passau relaxed at approx. 10.00 am. Individual departure – we recommend to arrange any travel connections not before 11.30 pm.

The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 7 days before arrival.
The general travel conditions of 1992 apply with following cancellation conditions: Prior to arrival the customer can cancel in written form at any time the booked arrangement. In case of cancellation or no show we charge following fees:
20% of the tour price up to 84 days before arrival date
30% of the tour price from 83th to 42th day before arrival date
60% of the tour price from 41th to 28th day before arrival date
80% of the tour price from 27th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival or “no show”
In case the booking is changed from the customer himself (change of date, duration of the tour or participant) up to 28 days prior arrival, a handling fee of € 50,- per booking is charged.
Thereafter the previous cancellation conditions apply. Such a change of booking is only in individual cases a possibility customers do not have a claim on it.

After the cycle tour along the Danube cycle path, relax in the wellness area of the Carissima with its sauna and whirlpool and from June to August, enjoy the outdoor swimming pool with its spacious sun deck.

You are looking for a standard, comfortable or luxurious cycling holiday in Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, then, a holiday aboard the Carissima is the right choice!
All 75 de-luxe staterooms have 14 m² and feature a hotel-style double bed, which may be converted to two single beds. The half-height windows on the main deck of the Carissima cannot be opened, the staterooms on the upper and middle deck provide full-size picture windows, which do open. All cabins are equipped with a private bathroom with a shower or bathtub, hair dryer, TV, safe and full air-conditioning. For those who love the luxury: Some cabins on the promenade deck have a connecting door and can be rearranged to a spacious DELUXE-suite with living room and bedroom (prices on request). ECO cabins are located in the front/rear part of the ship (engine noise possible).
2-bed: beds are on ground level, with double bed also used as twin beds
2-bed ECO: in the front or rear part of the boat, weak engine noises are to be heard
1-bed: on the upper deck with a single bed or on the main deck a 2-bed cabin for single use
