Tips on the Route
Length:
Start: Maloja/Engadin
End: Passau 517 km (with access to numerous cycling routs in Engadin, Tyrol, Bavaria and Upper Austria).
From Innsbruck to Passau with approx. 308 km (according to offers from the Upper Austrian Tourist Board Services)
Characterisation of the route:
The way is mostly flat and takes course on own cycling and hiking paths, small country roads or major streets with relatively little traffic. The Inn path is not permanently asphalted but takes course on longer sections on gravel streets. That’s why roadster, trekking bikes and mountain bikes are advisable.
altitude difference: 1500 m (from Maloja)
Signposting:
The signposting is unequal from region to region. In the Tyrolean part there are signs with the lettering “Inntal-Radweg”. In Bavaria and Upper Austria there are signs with green symbols on white background and signs with the lettering “Naturerlebnisweg Unterer Inn”. NEW: name “R3” in Upper Austria.
For clarification purposes we would like to point out that the "Inn Cycle Path" means the path which is available to cyclists along the river Inn. However, we expressly indicate that certain parts of this path are also used by outside traffic participants namely by motor vehicles as well as on foot. With respect to the paths marked on this site the Upper Austrian Tourist Board Services is not liable neither for a particular state or a particular condition of the paths nor for their trafficability.
