Of course you will visit Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace, taste delicious local specialties and marvel the historic paddle steamer Gisela on Lake Traunsee. Apart from all these highlights this beautiful region is also well known for its fresh-water and crystal clear mountain lakes, the ancient customs are still lived and its lovely down-home people.

Itinerary

  • Individual arrival in Salzburg

    Check in and you receive your travel documents as well as handover of your rented bike, if booked. Enjoy an individual stroll through Salzburg. Tip: We recommend an evening concert at the fortress Hohensalzburg.

  • Salzburg - Lake Wolfgangsee, approx. 45 km

    Today leave Salzburg and cycle through the Salzburger Flachgau via Eugendorf to Thalgau along the impressive Drachenwand (dragon wall) before you reach the picturesque Lake Mondsee. Up in Scharfling a magnificent view will open up towards Lake Wolfgang from where it goes rapidly down to the lovely Mozart-village, St. Gilgen

  • Lake Wolfgangsee - Lake Traunsee, approx. 37 km

    You start your day with a relaxing boat trip across Lake Wolfgang towards the famous "White Horse Inn". Stroll through the picturesque St. Wolfgang village before you continue to cycle in direction Bad Ischl, the emperor village offers a great variety of culture, local and international specialties and a lot of history. In Bad Ischl Emperor Franz Joseph had his summer residence and so are many artists. You cycle along River Traun before you reach Ebensee.

  • Lake Traunsee - Lake Attersee, approx. 48 km

    Similar to a fjord Lake Traunsee forces its way through between the Traunstein Mountain and the Höllengebirge range. You cycle to Gmunden, well known for its ceramics manufactory. Take your time to visit the Castle Ort and stroll along the beautiful lake promenade, before you cycle through the Aurachtal valley in direction Attersse.

  • Lake Attersee - Lake Mondsee, approx. 33 km

    Follow the turquoise Lake Attersee to Unterach and after approx. 2 km you will reach Lake Mondsee.Along the north bank you cycle to the village Mondsee, where you can visit the pre-historic stilt houses and enjoy some local specialties.

  • Lake Mondsee - Trumer Lake Distriction, approx. 46 km

    Cycle through the lovely surrounding of the Mondsee countryside passed Lake Irrsee, before you reach the Trumer Lake District. You like beer, so we recommend a stop at the Trumer beer brewery.

  • Trumer Lake District - Salzburg approx. 46 km

    Along the Trumer Lake tour many lovely spots are ideal to stop and have a refreshing swim, before you cycle back to Salzburg with a last view onto the magnificent mountain range of the Salzkammergut.
